Those are fender brackets to mount the rear of the fender. One of mine is cracked if ya wanna get rid of them I'd be interested. I hope this helps! Sean

yup - I just put mine in this weekend and then closed out the wheel wells withthe aft plastic baffles. Those can be put in with the fender on.

I can relate to your problems from working at body shops. I went to a 2 year trade college for Autobody and can tell you I got out early as the 2 shops I worked at were only worried about a fast turn around and quality was next to none. I left and just worked on my own stuff for 20 years. Then the plant I worked at for 18 years closed down and my buddy who worked at a big body shop called me that they needed help and I could get a job next week. Well long story short nothing had changed much still wanted work out the door fast even if we had to cut corners to do it. One project I did while there the owner of the shop did not want to do the car the way the estimate was wrote as it would take alot of extra time which the owner was paying for anyway. I made up my mind then it was time to get out so a little over 7 years ago I got out again and this time I won't go back I'll just work on my own Mopars and my buddies as they know what it takes to do a car right.

An update and a question.....

I've started the letter writing and complaint filing stage of my body-shop experience.  I also got an estimate from a reputable body shop (Thanks to Oldschool) to complete the work the guy started but didn't finish.  The estimate to complete the work is as much as it was to begin with. (Underbid! Imagine that.)  Forwarded the estimate to him, but of course no response.  Looks like I'm headed to court.

Anyway.  I'm looking at her sitting forlorn in the garage, thinking about another show season down the drain and am considering everything that I might be able to do myself to help things move along and make me feel useful again.  The vinyl top came to mind.  Has anyone had experience putting one on?  Difficult?  Easy?  Any advice?

It appears that I got my car out of there just in time because the body shop has gone out of business.  A-Team Collision wasn't incorporated so I'm going to have to sue Mike West personally. Probably means a lien on his house or personal property and no money, but at least his actions will haunt him for a while. I did however get a permanent credit of $1000 from AMEX so I've at least got a little back.  Man, if I'd only put the whole thing on AMEX!  He always asked for cash.  Wish I hadn't been so gullible.

I talked to one of his old employee's today and it seems I wasn't alone in being screwed.  Apparently some of his actions were enough to have him thrown into jail.  Dave didn't know why but it could have been the several other cars brought into the shop that were prepaid for but never completed; Or for the one guy he screwed for $10k and who is still trying to get his car back; Or the fact that he bought several cars to flip using bad checks and sold them before the owners could get them back; Or that he stole his wife's purse and cleaned out her bank account!........ Nice Guy, huh?!

Wow, glad you got your car back. I am thoroughly convinced that the guy who was "doing" my "body work" who screwed me was gonna sell my car without my approval and was lucky like you to get it out of there. He was in a small town and word got back to me my car was for sale. It was a long time ago but I think I threatened to bring the cops if he didn't turn over the car any rate I got it back and am finally getting 'round to doing it right! Good Luck!
