Adobe downloads/ Carter AFB
« on: March 05, 2006 - 10:47:09 AM »
Was wondering if anyone has Adobe downloads of Carter AFB's so that zooming in on specific items can be done for better understanding. This is the one I'm looking for in particular. Thanks.

I just went to google and typed in Carter AFB, and there are a ton of sites with all the info and pictures you will need.

I searched around there before but I still couldn't find my carb. I'll keep trying. But I want the Adobe download for it if possible.

I have an old (10 yr) catolog from Fed-Mogal. It doesn't list the cfm of the carb, but it does say when they were used. Yours lists an amazing spread of years, and engines. Along with a host of other carbs on the same list. 2642, 2650, 2744, 2773, 2787, 2805, 4200, 4430, 4431, 4432, 4619, 4620, 4621, 4742, 4745, 4746, 4969, 4970, 4971, are the carbs grouped together.

1958-1971, on 273, 318, 360, 361, 383, 413, 426, Inc.H/Perf.

The Challenger & Barracuda Restoration Guide by Paul Herd states that the 4742S is a Carter AFB and it's the Front Carburetor on 2x4bbl 426-ci Hemi for 1970.

That is true. However, the M indicates that it is a modified 70 Carter AFB because Carter couldn't set up in time for 71. So actually, it's a 70 carb that is modified to be a 71.
