Wax on, Wax off!

I was wondering, who here hand polishes their cars? not just your classics but your daily drivers to?  I try to wax my cars at LEAST twice or 3 times a year.  I'm a little partial to turtle wax but was also wondering what kind of waxes you use.

I was just considering picking up some stuff to wax/polish my car. It has a lot of light scratches and residue on the paint. What do you guys reccommend for the paint? Couple step process, cleaner then wax/polish? Also, what can I do about the residue on the flat black hood. That can't be waxed, is there special treatment for flat black?

Thanks

When I got my '04 TL I got the Zaino kit and have never used it. Maybe it's waiting for a 'Cuda to put it on instead. :thinkerg:

Zaino!
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Looks like a great product, i'll probably invest. But it doesn't say anything about flat black? There must be some sort of cleaner/polish for my hood.

Call me weird but if the weather is nice I actually like waxing my cars, providing the beer is cold and the music is good. Unless Turtlewax has improved in the last few few years I have never been too impressed with them. Their liquids are ok, but are abit on the abrasive side (as most liquids are) and will remove some of the finish. I preferre most any 'wax' based product. These apply really easily but take alittle more energy to remove, regardless of how long you let it set. Pastes apply easy and remove easy when let to dry. I went out and bought a cheapo buffer/waxer from Wally world and it works good for the removal process but still have to go back over with a towel of some kind to remove what the buffer doesn't. Just be carefull with the buffer, I accidently got too close to my hood pin cables and the electric buffer grabbed ahold of a cable and things got alittle ugly, my bad.
Cheers

I use liquid glass. I works great and avalible at most auto parts retailers. It is what we use after the finish buff to remove the remaining swirls.
