How`s everyone doing on thier winter projects?
« on: March 09, 2006 - 05:19:47 PM »
With spring just around the corner I figured we could use an update thread and I put up a poll to see where everyones at.I nned to try and put in some late nights as I still have a lot of things left to do and I`m still not at 100% yet.The `69 Barracuda needs to go to the muffler shop for tail pipes, needs an alignment and the time consuming job of sanding the whole car, repriming and getting some paint on her.I hope to be ready for opening day at the track April 1st but I need to kick butt if I`m going to make it.I haven`t even started on the `72 Barracuda yet and it needs some interior sprucing up,the grille painted and the AAR hood repaired, painted and installed but at least with a good cleaning and oil change it`s ready to go as is for now.

The Cuda is coming home Saturday out of storage.  I just need to get the Lineloc in and then the engine and tranny should go in next weekend.

I have just a couple little things I wanted to do on the Charger and Chally, but because of a rather serious set back on the R/R last fall I've been pretty bummed out and have been laging, not to mention I may have to spend some rather unexpected $$$$$$$$ on the R/R . Because it will be running again come spring even if I have to buy another new carb. So things are going to have to shape up pretty smoothly or the other two cars may be put on the back burner, nothing absolutely necessary there anyway. BTW 65* here today with 70* predicted for Sunday, so it will probably be some of that spring liquid sunshine.  :roflsmiley:

Got the hockeystick stripe on and the stainless polished last weekend. Last major things are the instrument cluster (waiting to get it back from Auto Instruments) and undercarriage cleaning/detailing. also waiting on a repo battery that should be here next week. Then it will be time to shake it down and see how it drives.

Hey Hemi71, my car has a lot of undercoating/oil from over the eyars, is this what you're getting cleaned off or just a detailing, tying to figure a good easy way to get this cleaned up.

It would be lots of work to do for me,we moved into a new house in Dec, so getting to the car has taken some time, things are starting to clear out of the garage, hope to get back at it soon. Did get a outlet wired for 220 and compressor hooked up,shelfs hung for parts storage and more lights, some day it will be the cars turn.

Its gunna be so close its not even funny. I am trying to get the 71 cuda done for Kool April Nites in Redding Ca. That is just 4 weeks away and the body work isn't even finished. Luckily next week is spring break, so I will be able to put in a lot of hours. If everything goes well, the car will be jammed, engine in running, exhaust in and the interior, ready for paint. As long as there aren't any more surprises we should make it. Parts keep showing up almost daily, it is so sweet. I can't wait to see that curious yellow paint on the car and in the sun.

Oh, I forgot, I have to put the new bumpers on and send my speedo out to Auto Instruments.  I had my clock and tach done last year.  They do great work and last time they were very fast! I hope it is the same case this year.

Hey April, how are their prices. I found a Ralley dash for pretty much free but I think it needs to be restored. Just wondering if its worth shipping out from back home? Thanks

This car is rotessorie restored, never been street driven. Just have to detail it, and general cleanup of the residue of the resto. If i keep it long enough  :naughty:....going to put a new tank in it, and add a rear sway bar.

1bad....not the cheapest, but the gages look nice. I had a problem that when i got them back, the tach did not work (i paid to have it repaired and calibrated) so they told me to send it back and they would fix it....I'm now waiting to get it back so i can finish up the interior.

I had all the faces redone (bead blasted and repainted), speedo, tach, and all gages repaired where neccesary and calibrated, new quartz conversion done to clock, the plastic face polished, even the odometer and trip odometer numbers redone...total $$ was $675, including shipping to me, i paid the shipping to them.
