I LOVE getting mail, dealership records galore!
« on: March 09, 2006 - 08:37:26 PM »
Hey gang,
I found these in my mailbox yesterday, there are close to 200 records, I sorted them and entered them into data bases yesterday, my webmaster is pretty sure that he can have the "found" section of www.hamtramck-historical.com updated with the VINs over the weekend. ( Thanks Mike! ) The records are from a Plymouth dealership in Santa Rosa, CA and they are free to the owners of the cars as always, so take a look at the site for your VIN over the weekend, there are a lot of Barracuda / Gran Coupe / Cuda entries that will be added soon.

Thanks to Ken for sending them in as well, he used to work there.

Best of luck!

Barry

I wonder if the same could be done for other dealerships.....finding that "jewel" person able to access/retrieve these paperwork from each dealer's file cabinets and releasing them to the public? Or a letter written to each dealer to send in these sheets?

Cody,
Yes, there were a fair amount of LA cars from 1967-1971.

If anyone runs across an old dealership, or talks to a dealership employee please ask them if they have any old records.

I am waiting on records from two other dealerships as well.

It looks like my webmaster has most of the records up right now.

Best of luck,
Barry

Thanks guys,
It is my pleasure to do this.

My webmaster confirmed it, he has them all loaded up now, 165 new numbers. Some cars have more than one record, sold new and then again as used later, kind of cool to see.

Tommorow is the 1 year anniverary for the website going online, it is amazing how much it has grown and developed in a year.  Thanks to everyrone that has helped out along the way! :cooldancing:

T/Ake care,
Barry
