MoparNut,
That's a Diaphram clutch (many release levers, unlike the Borg&Beck 3-fingers) and I remember from old racing stories that if you speed shift this design the levers go over-center and stick in the open position. Speed shifting is the art of not letting off the gas when pushing the clutch in, for those who don't know. That design may be fixed now since many new cars use diaphram clutches now. It's easier to depress the clutch but you have to remove the big over-center spring under the dash on the clutch pedal.
For my V-8s, I still use the Stock-Type 10.95 scalloped pressure plate. It bolts up to a 10.5" flywheel pattern and uses an 11" clutch disk. It also uses 3 roller weights inside the hat to add extra centrifugal force. If you want one of these, look for a clutch marked 10.95" with 3 or 6 roller weights, and get an 11" disk, you will also need small headed header type bolts to bolt it to the flywheel. A 10.5 is still cheaper, but I like the extra 1/2" of clutch material.
That street/strip clutch disk may be too grabby for nice stop and go driving, as in a car cruise, parade, Brice Road, etc. I.M.O. Look for a good Heavy-Duty Type Borg and Beck Pressure plate and disk. Look in the Mopar Performance catalog or Mancini's web site for some ideas.
