I went out and bought a Sears Craftsman "oilless" piece -o- sh_t" It does fine keeping up with the tools I've been using, but it makes so much freaking noise , you have to wear ear plugs , and if you want to talk, you have to either turn the darned ting off, or yell over the noise it makes !
Anyone want to buy a compressor ? ? ? Cheap ! ! ! No , really Cheap ! ! !  :roflsmiley:  :roflsmiley:  :roflsmiley:

I bought this model compressor.  It's 220V single phase:

Like everything, get the biggest compressor you can afford.  An air compressor is a case where more is better.  I've been really pleased with mine.  So 220 is the only way to go.  The old 115V Craftsman I had was basically only good for airing up tires and using an impact to remove tires.  That's about it.

I have a Quincy 5 hp,220v., cast iron 2 stage 60 gal.ver. tank,17 cfm .1100.00. It works nicely, would be better if outside the shop tho.Drain tank often ! Had over 3 yrs ,a BIG improvement over my craftsman 5hp oil type 30 gal .single stage I had for many yrs.I would not buy oilless if you plan on doing any work with it .

Both those systems you posted look like they'd work well.  We have a 7hp/60gal. Husky single-stage compressor in our three car that works well for what my father and I use it for.  I'd probably get a two-stage compressor if you can, but we couldn't complain as we got a killer deal on the 7hp/60gal. (as opposed to the larger 8hp/80gal. two-stage they had.)
