A year or so they made smoking illegal in all bars, resturants and workplaces here.

Theres good points and bad points tob this law.

One of the bad points is that it forces all the smokers out onto the street, so now I cant walk down the street without having to negotiate huge hoards of smokers (bugger).

I would write one of the good points, but I dont feel like typing anymore.

LOL...I was 2 pack a day for 10 + years and a pack aday for the previous 10 before that and I,m a welder (probly not long for life here), smokes went to almost ten bucks a pack here and then they shut smoking down just about everywere thats why I quit. I took zyban , the patch and acupunture all at the same time and that didnt work  :banghead:
But what did work was substitute cigs for weed, and every time you want a smoke have a joint, pretty soon your too loaded to remember you smoked, then after a few weeks your past the bad part of cigs and all you have to do is quit the weed....LOL :woohoo:

NZ, this sounds like you are trying to give yourself a reason to keep on smoking.

Not trying...I love it.  :smokin: :bananasmi Just me I guess....if I wanted to give up I would.
Would be hard, yes, but I'm not ready to give up yet.

 :ylsuper: Have one soon actually...lol

Smoking has more "disadvatages" than just possibly killing you, and we know some obviouly are not killed from it. But just figure how much money you actually spend in a year, remember to count the taxes too. Your sense of smell and taste are shot because of smoking. And to be rather blunt, you stink, sorry. I never dated a girl who smoked, refused to do it after  going out with a smoker. I just may as well licked a dirty ashtray as to kiss her, about the same effect. Now I'm not a goody two shoes, I smoked for a few years, then just threw the last pack (before opening it) in a trash can, done, over, never again. How long ago was that? Camel straights cost .25 a pack, a while back.

When I quit . . . cigs had just hit 2 bucks and I swore that if they ever made it that high, I would quit due to cost.   :smokin:

I know a quite a few people who smoke / have smoked and a lot more of them have health problems of all kinds, than those I know who don't smoke.  Also, there's a lot to be said for genetics.  Some people can smoke for a lifetime and die at 80+ without ever showing any effects,  others die at 40.  Sounds like a pretty big gamble if you're betting that you're in the 80 group.

Keep at it, the money savings alone make it worth it.

I agree with you WSM!! I have dated a few guys that smoked and yup it is definately like well never done it (LOL) but what I would assume to be like licking a dirty ashtray!! yuck!!  I too definately prefer the non-smokers!!  and who ever said choosing breathing over smoking I agree 100% and My father sees it that way to now!! I am sooooooo thankful that I started that horrible habit!! Again GOOD LUCK DAVE you can do it!!!  also think of all the money you can save to put twards your car!!!

Best of luck with the quitting! I quit six years ago, I was moking two and a half to three packs a day! Doctor said quit or die !  :faint:     Not much of a choice there ! Still can't run very far( too fat! ) and if I get to laughing, I get to choking ! Kinda like an asthma attack or something !
I only smoked for 16 years too! So , my hats off to anyone that succeeds, and even more so to all that never started in the first place !    :worshippy
