'72 Challenger in a junkyard
« on: March 16, 2006 - 06:14:08 PM »
I found a '72 Challenger in a junkyard today.  Pretty well stripped.  I took the door panels and rear seats, and a few other small parts.  Not much left, good rear quarter glass,  trunk lid OK.  The windsheild washer bottle looked good, but I would have had to get the truck off of it to get to it.  Here are some pics.  There is a challenger under the truck in the second pic.  lol
Also a couple of pics of a dart that looked restorable.
I went there to look at a 440 engine in a Chrysler that the guy was selling, he said it was a '70 or '71, but when I checked it out the car was a '73 or '74.  He wanted $600 for the engine, no carb, but still had AC compresser.

I didn't look under the car.  He said its going to the crusher soon, so I am sure he would sell anything thats left.

I hate to admit to the ones we sent to the shreder back in the late 70's early 80's. Around here most were rusty by mid 70's ....  :22yikes:

Looks like a pair of bucket seats and some chrome trim still there for picking.

Just made it back up there today.  The Chally had been crushed :stomp: :swear:  The guy that went with me did buy a '70 4 door sattelite, no engine or trans for $300.  He wanted some parts off of it for a RoadRunner he is restoring.  They also still had 2 Dusters and a '73 Dart Sport with lots of parts left.
If anyone is into Javelins, they had a bunch of them and at least 1 AMX.
He had probably crushed 5 acres of cars since I went there in March.

Do you have a contact number or a name of the yard.  I have to know that acres are being crushed everyday and noone here can get any parts.  Contact info would be greatly appreciated.   thanks alot.
