Wiring Diagram......73 340

Can  someone point me to a web  site where I  can get a wiring diagram  for my engine bay,  or good pictorials.  I've got no problem  with the headlites, signals , etc.........have some wires thou such as alternator, and coil? in question.  Also  I have this  Mallory ignition system (have the wiring diagram so no problem there) and the car  had this  I'll call it a 'single' coil ballast resister?  which is not what I'm  familiar with since other DCX  vehicle I' ve  worked on had a 'dual coil' setup? What /why  is it different? ..........thx  for any help.........dk

dual ballast resistors were used to drop voltage to the 5th pin on the ign ECU , no ign boxes have been made with the 5 th pin since around 76 , the voltage is dropped internally instead so using a dual ballast is redundant as the second resistor is never used
 you should have a blue wire to 1 side of the ballast & a brown to the other side & 1 wire usually blue [ sometimes brown]  from the ballast to the coil , then the black/ yellow wore from coil - to the ign ECU
 Alt shouls have 1 heavy black wire for power output & a blue 12v wire to feild & a green wire from the feild to the voltage regulator , the 2 feild connectors can be plugged into either terminal on the alt

Another question  re; the 'fuseable link' ....in-line  close to the battery.......how do you test it?  Can it be replaced by say a 30amp  in-line style  fuse?.......thx...dk

test it with a volt meter , if it has 12v on the side away from the battery it i sworking , I got a replacement fuseable link from a local parts store & so;dered & heat shrunk 1 end

That's an interesting thought about replacing it with a fuse. I'm just not sure what the fuseable linkage is rated at. I could be wrong, but the difference I believe is that a fuse will blow instantly, where the linkage might cook a little before it gives up. I smoked one real good one time. Don't ask me how.
