just a idea.
« on: March 22, 2006 - 03:05:51 PM »
I was wondering, if it was possible to make it mandatory to start a thread in the newbie forum to join?
Might not be..........
There seems to be a lot of members that don't ever post, where, if they had to, to join, and got a warm welcome, it would "break the ice", so to speak.
Just a thought.

not a bad idea Dimples,  but I don't think there is a better or more welcoming place than CC.com, everyone here goes out of their way to welcome new mwmbers, that is just the type of good people who belong to this community.  Trouble is we have guys pop in to sale a car and never show up again, most people  stick around and have fun here.

I did not post a newbie thread when I joined, I just acted like I was always here.

Some are more shy than others, it might help get them going?
It just popped in my head, a lot of members don't ever post.

I don't believe there is anything built into the forum that would allow us to make that mandatory.  It's a good idea though!

Hmmm..........
What about making it so you can post in the Newbie forum, if your not registered? And make it so the admin/mods have to approve the account?
Like, post a intro telling us about you in the newbie forum, and we will review your account...............
Just a thought.
I think anyonw who actually wants to join, would do that, and it would break the ice too!
Or, this is getting too complicated, and is a bad idea.

I dont think I had a newbie post either...

I did have an "Im back" post, but that got wiped out in the server change.
