Another disapointment in my search for glass!
« on: March 22, 2006 - 04:52:43 PM »
My search for the piece of glass I need for the `69 will continue after I thought I found one yesterday.I decided to break down and start calling all the big used Mopar parts guys and spend the big bucks having no luck anywhere else, except for the one I recieved in a thousand pieces thanks to the US Post Office, and when I called Mopar City said they had one.The guy even checked the parts car and called me right back saying that it was a `69 coupe with tint-just what I need.Well today they call and inform me the car did indeed come with tinted glass but at some point the drivers quarter glass must have broke and was replaced with a clear piece, the rest of the car still has tint, just my luck!!!  :pullinghair: :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead: I don`t blame the guys at Mopar City as they sounded very knowlegable and were very helpfull and profesional.I just am having no luck with a part that I wouldn`t think should be that hard to find,I mean it`s not some rare e-body part??  :1zhelp:

Torredcuda,

This worked for me ONCE!  Do you know anyone who works for a car dealer, preferably, one that was a past Mopar dealer?
I had a friend that use to work at the local Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth dealership (Jim Glaze in Redlands CA, no longer in business), and I was in need of a rear window for a 67 notch back. I was having your kind of luck with my search.  After talking to him about my dilemma, he looked up the parts number and then checked the computer for dealers who might have one in their inventory.  Me of little faith, thought no way anyone would still have a piece of glass for a 30-year-old vehicle.  But, low and behold one was found, at a dealership in Spokane Washington “Spokane Chrysler”.

I called up there and talked to the parts department manager and he agreed to send it, I had to pay extra for the packing, da##ed curved glass, but even with that and shipping I only had to pay a little over $500, which I turned over happily, to get my prized jewel.

It work once, it may work again, especially for a quarter window.

Good luck in your search, and I will keep my eyes open as well

Have you tried Pilkington Classics at 1-800-848-1351?  Or call Richard at ProSource Glass Intl. 877-345-2800. He helped me out. He had my windshield for $103 and found a place that I could pick it up locally so that I wouldn't have to pay shipping.

Hi folks..I go on this site once in a while since I bookmarked it and really enjoy the Barracuda & Challenger model cars, especially convertibles.. we use to own Lo-Can Glass International, our family business from 1953-2002. We sold out to a large conglomerate and I left in 2003. Our old company and its parent company has been sold out again in 2005... I started ProSource Glass International in 2004, bottom line we now carry thousands of glass parts, some new reproduction, some new old stock and even some Mopar glass although none of the real popular ones are left in mopar...
Anyways if anyone needs windshields new cheap in the New England area we sell  for probably the lowest price around. We have distributors  in parts of the South and West where they can be picked up as well with no freight-
We have access to some back windows for the Barracuda (sorry no 6o's Fastback back windows new).
We have the 70-74 door glasses in stock- good quality reproductions etc...
Feel free to email or call toll free for a quote. We sell 1 piece, full sets as well as large quantities, club discounts.
