Is there a way to test the harness with a test light? Either side?

When your emergency flashers are on in the front, what are your BRAKE lights doing?

Ah , It is kind of comforting to know I am not the only one with electrical problems. I took my dash apart several times to chase the same ghosts. I'm still not 100% confident. I have been trying to avoid the 600.00 dash harness, but I think it is probably a smart idea.

Another way to do it is to take the flasher lead on the dash side and tie it directly to the rear lights, the flasher requires about 2 1/2 amps (usually 3 lights) to operate so you may have to also tie them the to at least one dash turn signal lead which on some models is tied into a front light.

At least your wiring is still taped up. You should see some of the harnesses that I find under some dashes.  It's like somebody started cutting all of the black tape off to "follow" wires.

jleilich, Check under the dash for that in-line fuse holder that CODY found. One of my later model Cudas also had that in line fuse right next to the flasher. I'll take a pic of my spare one and send it up.

Let me look up my notes. I had to diagram the whole turn signal circuit when I added signals to a race car that only had  a steering shaft, and had to have everything to make it street legal.

It's your turn signal switch in the column. Do you have another one to plug in down below without pulling the column apart. I have on that you can try if you need one. If you want to try mine, PM me your address.

I ordered a new one from year one on friday.. so it should be here soon. I can unplug the turn signal switches under the dash, it has a harness plug under there that looks like the ignition harness.

That should fix your emer. flashers. You still need to find your blinker.  When your brake lights are on and you move the turn signal handle up and down, do the brake lights go out from side to side?

call off the dogs...  Its a bad switch.  I got my switch from year one the other day and finally had a chance to try it out. I hooked swapped the plugs and operated it with a screwdriver and every thing worked fine.

now i have to take the column apart and install it.

thanks for the help

Great!   Now, don't think you can get that wheel off without a puller. Don't even try.   Get a cheap one to pull it and it will come right off.
