Hey Plum6Pak, I have a question for you about the car.  Is that lower bracket located on the front side of the radiator support welded on or held on by two bolts?  The reason I ask is I don't have one on my Chally (didn't know about it until I looked at your pics again) and would like to start to look for one.  Thanks.

The lower radiator support must be just a little different on a B body, I looked at my old Challenger lower radiator support I replaced, the lower section looks exactly like yours with two holes, the one on the Satellite as well as the 66 Belvedere (my old parts car) has the bracket welded on. Isn't that where the support from the hood latch goes down and bolts on?

Hmm, I bet you're right. (I can't remember how things sat since I've had it stripped down for nearly 2 1/2 years now.)  You must be right with that.  The picture of yours all painted up threw me off-track though because that extra bracket on the support had me thinking I was missing mine. (as you can see in the pic. the front had some damage done to it and so I thought maybe that had gotten torn off throughout it's lifetime.)  Thanks for the response Glen! :thumbsup: :cheers:

Just an update, getting a little closer to the test fire, first time in the car and through the new headers. Should be able to fire it within a couple of weeks.

Glen she looks beautiful sitting in there buddy ! I know you have had her running on the stand but just wait until ya hear her growling out of those headers.........just pure raw wonder and amazement  :cheers: Do you have rubber or solid mounts? And do you have some type of "torque" control device in mind or already made. I have never before had the priviledge of owning a 440 much less a six pack until last year when we built ours. I mounted her on rubber mounts and when we fired her off she did some serious shaking, especially at the low idle when the lope of the cam made her shimmy like a certain variety of dancer  :roflsmiley: But once I "stablized" her block to the K member she just sits there and sounds like the badass she is.  BTW Rev, just hooked up my electric cut outs Saturday, my oh my , what a fun toy that is !  :bananasmi  Plum, you won't want to leave the garage for a few days when you get her running. Have fun and enjoy.  :cheers:

Thanks TC, Rev, can't wait to hear that Hemi of yours fire up for the first time TC!

WSM, the engine mounts are stock but I modified them from the information found on a thread that was posted in the engine & go fast goodies, here's the link if anyone is interested. http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=21025.msg209694#msg209694  Thanks for the tip Firefighter3931!  It was a piece of cake to drill and install the bolts into the mount and now it shouldn't come unglued. I've also welded in frame rail connectors. I'm really interested in the electric cutouts but have more important things to buy for the time, maybe when I get to that part of the project I'll see what the funds are doing and go for a set of them. Do they sound anywhere near as good as wide open headers or more like exhaust without mufflers?

About the cutouts Plum, when you get to that time, mount them as close to the headers as possible. A little flip of the switch and  :bananasmi. What I did was "sandwitch" the actual electric componant between a set of the manual style cut outs and a 3" collector ring, this unit was then welded between the header and the exhaust pipe well in front of the mufflers. Even at an idle there is no mistaking the sound difference, and when you start to pull some rpms on that 440 you'd think you were sitting in front of the tree at the strip. Look in the rear view mirrow and this is what you'll see  :bigsmile:

Thanks everyone for all of your kind comments, you are all very encouraging and supportive. It sure helps! It is coming along slow but sure. I have 1/4th of a car right now and still have a long way to go, hopefully I will have the toughest parts completed soon. WSM, your comment about looking in the rear view mirror and seeing  :bigsmile:  what about the nut behind the wheel in your car?   :grinyes:
