Thanks for the kind comments, it's been a while since I posted on here, been busy with a lot of things and the car was only part of them. Here's a few pictures of my completed quarter install, now I can move on to something else. The quarter is 99% ready for paint, will get another coat of epoxy primer once the rest of the car is ready for it. Not a body guy by a long shot but I am one that believes where there's a will there's a way, finally got this with a lot of  ing,  ,ing  ,    and  .
 Here's the results. EIGHT YEARS LATER!!!

Looking good, I did a 70 a few years ago... did you try and fit the side scoop yet?  I had to modify the inert plus work to the scoop area.  Body work is definetly like 70% patience, something I don't have at time

  What? Side scoop? Uhoh, better try it before I move on, didn't even think of that being an issue. Thanks for the tip, what did you have to do to it? Shave some off of the insert, tweak the scoop area? Glad you mentioned this before I got to installing this and maybe having an unwanted surprise.

The contour is off, I had to reshape my insert some and add some putty... if I could have done it over I would have kept the original section of the 1/4 with the scoop.

That's the reason I replaced my quarter in the first place, the major part that wouldn't come out right on the original was the scoop area. It had been bondo'd about 1/4" thick, once I removed it and worked on it for several hours, I decided I wasn't going to be able to save the original scoop area without using a ton of bondo again. We'll give it a whirl with the insert and see how it comes out. Thanks SilverChally, I'll let you know how it works out.

Got a little more done, if I had it to do over again I would have just replaced the entire panel, it would have been about the same amount of work.

Welded in new metal in several places, repaired the corners in some places by silver brazing then using a die grinder to shape and clean.


All cleaned up and sprayed with etching primer.

Glen that looks excellent. I feel your pain about working those rotted window channels! I did the same to my 68 shown in this thread

With all the rust in the lower dutchman panel that you had i sure would of just replaced that panel. live and learn right! HAPPY Thanks giving!

Nice work Nick, not enough E's in sweet for the work you are doing.  I really can't complain about the amount of work I had to do around my rear window. The only bad spot was along the bottom edge and corners. The rest of the car is very rust free with the exception of the trunk that I've already replaced and the small areas just below the door on each side. My hat's off to ya! Can't wait to see some more progress pics of the RR once you get back to it.
