Red Light on Speedometer
« on: March 27, 2006 - 07:33:04 AM »
I own a 1970 Challenger RT SE.  I have not had it long enough to purchase an old owners manual yet.  I was driving it this weekend and noticed that a small red light showed up on my speedometer.  The red light is located between 70 and 80 mph numbers on the speedo.  What does it mean?  Also - where should I buy a manual?

Thanks!

You haven't owned enough vintage tin. Every car I ever saw before 1980 had red as the high beam indicator  :smokin:

You got me to thinkin, and to me this is hilarious, but in '77 I bought a '73 Duster 340 that had a wiring meltdown under the dash. One of the issues was the RED high beam indicator was melted. I found a piece of clear plastic & colored it with Magic Marker, maybe the only one I had, in BLUE. I thought it was COOL and of course "original". Maybe I'm responsible for the blue light?? Of course thats just an old mans memory at work.  :smokin: :smokin: :smokin:

pink440,
You've been driving with your hi-beams on. I'm glad I wasn't coming the other way.  :22yikes:

Welcome, pink.  You can also find owners manuals on eBay, both new and used ones.
