« on: April 03, 2006 - 05:35:39 PM »
Hey guys my 72 has a 440 in it now with an 800 double pump holley and on eof those 9 quart deep oil pans. I was wondering if i need to keep that pan just to drive i will not be drag racing. What size carb can i use instead of that big 800 and can i go back to the regular sized oil pan ??? thanks in advance

Hey WVUFELLA, I have a MP 6 quart hemi oil pan & pick up tube I'm looking to get rid of that should be very adequate for your 440, has only been ran in the test stand. Does your pan have external oil pickup or internal and what brand is it? If you have pictures, send me a PM or an email if you are interested in a swap.

Just as a side note, a 66 or 67 Chrysler Imperial a freind of mine owns uses a small Carter AFB as stock equipment. This carb is around 600 cfm and has no secondary air valve the more modern AFB's have.
A hi-po 440 it is not.
