NOT Fastest----BUT QUICKEST
« on: April 07, 2006 - 04:47:11 PM »
There is already a thread about how fast you have been top speed and in what vehicle.  I'm curious what is the quickest you have ever been down the 1/4 mile.  (Or 1/8th mile)   What is your lowest E.T.?  OR, if you aren't sure, what is the quickest car you have ever ridden in under full throttle acceleration?  What vehicle were you in or on?

The quickest car i have been down the track in is a Gmc Syclone that has a huge Turbo on it. It ran mid 9s and displaced organs out of the hole AWD Rules

How about you Old?

Back in the day I used to run a 1965 A-990 Hemi Coronet car.  I ran both 1/8th and 1/4 mile tracks.  That car ran consistent mid 6.60's in the 1/8th and mid 10.60's in the quarter.  That car had a 5.57 rear gear and was out of steam early when running the 1/4 mile.  I haven't put the Beast on the track yet, but the previous owner supplied E.T. slips of 10.30's in the 1/4.  I have however nailed it for 400-500 feet from a standing start.  It is about equal to the '65 car in the 1/8th, but faster in the 1/4.  That's about it I guess......   Oldschool

Not sure what Lucy would do.....haven't been down the 1/4 to date.
If I were to take Lucy, I would hope for anywhere between high 12's and mid 13's.

Ran a 12.93 with my 340 Demon, 106mph I think. Only ran it a couple times. Don't know what the cuda will run, maybe find out this summer.

My Cuda's best was 11.50 @ 125 mph with a nitrous plate. Without the nitrous its best was 12.50 @ 114 mph. I've never used good tires as I'm always running "rocks" on the back and getting 2.10 60' times, but at least it minimizes the body-twisting.

The quickest car I've ever ridden in was a 340 '70 Cuda that ran mid 10's.

The quickest car I've driven myself was an 06 Charger R/T.  Which tells me that I need to drive more cars.  Or get money so I can get a bigger engine for my Barracuda.

Well, in the local junkyard, there is an 80s Dodge truck.  360/727 combo.  I can get that combo for less than $600.  Problem is, I don't have the money right now.
