If anyone knows of any shells at a reasonable price, please let me know.  Or just like all the kind posts on this thread, any advice on this situation is greatly, greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

There was that 340 cuda on here without a title for 2k, but the pictures werent very clear on the back half of the car.

Zerf, I'm so glad you walked away from that one!  I've sat here and read through all these posts and just stared at those awful pictures.  I think all of us feel your pain.  Those pics just took my breath away...not in a good way!  I'm so sorry.

I'm really glad you never got hurt. The pictures make me sick to look at them. I can't even imagine how you must feel. Keep us posted what you end up doing as far as fixing  the Cuda.

Dittos all folks. Thos pics are scarey and I sure am glad no one was hurt badly. The funny thing is that car is still gonna be valuble enough for restoration in the near future. You might want to just keep that one and start another.

Sorry to hear about your loss but maybe people will take a look at that and leave their big late model bumpers on and not change all the cars to the earlier ones. (I know the big bumpers are uglier)

I had to sue a guy that did a paint job for me. He never paid! So I put a lein against his house. He hadn't taken the lein seriously until he found out he couldn't sell the house without paying me off  If you end up sueing this guy find out if he owns any property!! and put a lein on it! it might take you a while to get your money but eventually you will AND you will get it WITH INTEREST!!!
Also in regards to value of your car when I wrecked my 73 we proved to the insurance adjuster that we were working on it! AND he got values of some vehicles off the lots from the locals areas! so they paid me market value. insist on that! then he minused what the local wrecker would pay him for the broken body some stupid amount like $150.00!! (can you believe that??)so I was paid the difference!!!!! So insist that the insurance guy get you comps from the local papers or lots, or YOU get them for him and PROVE the value of your before wrecked car!!!

I'm sorry to see and read about your loss.  I was shocked to see that kind of damage, I was only picturing a rear valance, probably crunch quarter, but what happened is out of sight!
Now I'm not here to rub anything in, but to use this as a reminder and example, with our fine cars, never ever skimp on coverage.  I have full coverage, comp, collison, liability, theft, uninsured/under thing.  As work progresses, I just update the policy, send in pics whatever they want.  Policy costs differ state to state, but a years coverage sets me back less than $500, to me that isn't bad, considering what the consequences are.  I can spend that in 1 week on gas ($2.99 per gallon x 8 MPG).
NO matter how careful we are on the road, we can't expect everyone around us to be equally as careful.  As soon as you start putting serious $$$ into your car, get some serious coverage.
Glad that you made it out ok with minimal injuries. I would start looking for another car unless you have a serious attachment to this one.  Even repairing this you may feel that it is never "right".

Bigtime update:

I met with a lawyer and he will take the case, no expense unless they win, so he's confident...unless the guy is penniless and had no insurance, in which case it isn't worth going after, which could very well be.  But, he will represent me from here forward for now, so at least that's a temporary positive.

Next, I'm 33, married, and live several states away from my parents.  I've always done everything for myself.  But, they felt so bad because they knew I always wanted one, and when I got it I worked so hard on it, and invested so much.  I couldn't believe they said they'd buy me another one, as long as I can find one for $10,000 or so.  So I started looking at shells, etc., and found a car that I bought today.  It is in Kentucky and will be shipped soon.  It is a race car that I will modify back to street.  Here are some pics:

This time around:

1.) I won't use it as a daily driver, but cruise only occasionally
2.) It will have an alarm ASAP, no excuses
3.) It will not leave the premises without full insurance in every respect.

Here is the description they had:

1970 PLYMOUTH CUDA, mini tubbed, dana rear 513 gear, built 440 auto, 727, glass front body no rust, runs drives great, v code 440 six-pack car. sell 9500.00 wont last long

I have doubts as to whether or not it's a factory v code 440 six-pack, of course, because I haven't seen any fender tag or VIN.  Whether it is or not, it's a 1970 440 Cuda, which was what I always wanted, not a 318 (again, of course).

To bring this thing back to street legal (or just plain streetable), here's my guess:

Change the Dana gears to 4.10's
Replace windows with glass, not plexiglass or whatever it is
Hook up the front lights
Switch over my dash
Replace the 8-gallon fuel cell with a true gas tank (heh, done that once already)
Change the slicks to tall street tires

I'll wait until the insurance dust settles with my 73 Cuda, and then probably part it out, or see if anyone's interested in the whole numbers matching kaboodle, minus whatever I switch over to the 70 Cuda.

At least that's the game plan at the moment.  Life works in funny ways.  What do you think?  Did I miss anything you know of, or can tell from the pics, for making it street ready?

Glad to hear you were able to walk away from the wreck, and that you managed to get another Cuda so soon.

However, it's people like the Geo driver that make me sometimes afraid to drive my car around.  There are alot of idiots on the road, who do not pay half as much attention to driving as they should.  Being the vindictive person that I am, I hope that this morons medical bills are expensive, plus, I hope you win damages from him.  His stupidity of getting behind the wheel of a car, when he had absolutely no business driving in the first place, should effectivly ruin his life for the next several years.  He might even learn a lesson about driving illegally, and not paying attention to the road, and other cars on it.  I am doubtful of that last part, though.  I'd settle for making sure he has no significant ammount of spare money in his pockets for the next decade.  But, then again, I am a somewhat vengeful, vindictive person when it comes to cars.***
