You guys just aren't going to believe this.
Last night I talked to the guy about the race car. He said the first person to get money to me gets it. I asked if he will hold it while I get the money together. He said I could send $500 overnight by US Mail to have it held for a week. I agreed, but he said that just the same, if someone bought it before my $500 arrived, he would return my $500, literally, the first with money on it wins. I said wait a minute, what about Western Union. I can send that now, they have one in your town (Salyersville, KY), and you have money instantly. Then I have claim to the car? He agreed. I called later to make sure he got it. All was good to go.
Tonight he called, apologizing that the car had already been sold by his partner, and he'll send the money back. Time to change my icon, I won't have a 70 440 Cuda. Is it just me or am I having the world's worst luck this last week. Seriously! I am usually considered pretty lucky by my friends, well, not this week!
I don't know it for sure, of course, but here's what I'll bet happened: someone local stopped by about the car, knew it was an awesome deal, and said well, you can wait a week for this guy's $9500, or take my higher offer in cash right now. As a medical update, my back is definitely not right, though I hope it does heal soon. My lower back, maybe bottom 10 inches, tingles just a little, which really scares me, but I keep hoping I get lucky. I think I should look into an MRI scan.
