Let's See your Trophy Cabinet!
« on: April 08, 2006 - 08:43:30 PM »
Well, I was talking to my brother tonight about the local car show in my hometown and how he won Junior rodder when he was 16. (1971 Dodge Demon, orange with black stripes/hood, was my first car and his first car 2 years later).  Gave me the idea for this thread.

There are a lot of amazing cars on this site and I'm sure there are a lot of show winners. This will give everyone the chance to show some pictures of their trophy cabinet or their cars that have won. If you have no pictures i'm sure everyone would be glad to hear stories. It doesn't matter if its a 1st place at the nationals or a participation award at your local A & W, lets see em.

Mine are all tucked away in boxes. Too hard to dust and it's not about the trophies for me.

I think the "long distance award" for a car driven to the show is the best one to receive. I could be biased though?  :dunno:

Thats awesome barry, is there a lot of muscle cars up there?  What car won that?  :jumping:

I hope noone takes this thread the wrong way, I know a lot of people are gonna say its not about the trophies and I couldnt' agree more, I just thought it is a nice way to show people the recognition you recieved for hard work on your pride and joys.

Hello all,
I hope you guys keep this thread going. I haven't been to many car shows, aside from NIAS and some autorama's in Detroit but that was several years ago. I have never been to one that was all Mopars. What are the different catagories for trophies? Also are the trophies determined by pre selected judges or do the spectators vote also to determine the winners? I could see how it would be a difficult decision, just by viewing the photos of all of your cars you have posted on this site. What would be some of the qualities of a show car that would make it "stand out " or be selected over another car of similar quality? What do the judges look for to determine the winner?
Some cars appear to never be drivin, just trailered to shows. I think that would take much of the enjoyment out of owning one.

I did??  I can't remember why...

We only finished our car last summer, so haven't gone to a bunch of shows.  We always have fun just hanging out with other car people. Here's some of our awards.

I have a few from my Challenger Rt but have never made a cabinet for them. I have all the plaques packed away and will make a place for them someday.

I got this last summer, for being the only Mopar at the event.
