how can you tell if leaf springs are shot?
« on: April 11, 2006 - 04:54:18 PM »
My '73 Challenger 340 has 50K miles has been sitting basically for 27 years. The rear is lower than most I see but how can I tell if my rear leaf springs are still good. Any test or measurement?

I think the originals might have been a touch lower than what we'd like. Here are a couple of pics of promos for the 70 Challenger. In these ads, I can see a lower rear. I ended up buying 2" over stock height springs from Espo to get what I wanted.

Yea that's about it, see in the lower pic. the bodyline forward of the rear wheel looks like it slopes up.  :P
