408 stroker? good idea in Challenger
« on: April 12, 2006 - 08:16:15 AM »
I've got the chance to buy a 408 stroker and I am thinking about doing it, would that be a good choice

it would depend on the quality of parts used to build it , cost to get it & any increase in stroke will reduce rod ratio & I am not a big believer in more CI verses maintaining the rod ratio , often you will make more power with less CI & better rod ratio although the relatively small strokers seem to have proven themselves , once you get up to the 420-440 range in a small block I would be questioning the engine life & actual power gains
