what dash bezel is correct for 1970 Cuda (AAR) non-ralley??
« on: April 13, 2006 - 06:46:35 AM »
my AAR had a ralley dash in it, and it is a non-ralley car. What is the correct dash piece for the left side?? I have a 2 speed wiper motor, no rear defrost. There seems to be quite a few different ones...some have yellow and blue words, some are just white. Some say wiper/washer...or just wiper?  ???
this is driving me insane! Do any of you 70 owners have a pic? Or a mint part??

thank you!

Is your AAR originally a 2 speed wiper car? I've been trying to figure out for sure if they only came 3 speed or with either wiper motor.

I would think it would have to be the 3 spd type in order to allow for clearance on the backside of the air cleaner on a sixpack car.

Thats what I've been told from time to time but I keep seeing AAR cars with 2 spd wiper motors. Here is a pic I had on my computer, looks like a resto that would be done right.   :dunno:

Standard dash cars had 2 speed wipers, since the washer was on the floor it would not say washer on the dash panel, those were for variable speed wipers.

My car has a standard dash with 3 speed wipers and washer control on the panel though.

FY1, what would we do without you??
I'm gonna owe you big time when this car is done! :drunk:

my car did have a 2 speed on it when I bought it...it fits just fine behind the 6-pack air cleaner..I think thats just a myth floating around about them not fitting...

so it looks like I need the non-washer panel, but with what color lettering? My 73 Cuda is a one owner car, it has white type on the panel, I am second owner of my 71 convertible, which has a super mint dash, and the panel in it has red, blue, yellow and white lettering..(one is a conv top switch)....I'm guessing I need the one that reads DIMMER in yellow..?? yeesh!  I just have to be right on this stupid question...!

Now, I know where I went wrong...I was in 68-70 B-body mode. I forgot the ebodies have a deeper firewall area for the wiper motor. :dupe:

Shaker cars required vatiable speed.  This is from a Challenger, not sure if they used the same label on the Barracuda.
