Taking a risk!
« on: April 15, 2006 - 09:41:23 AM »
I got a call from a friend yesterday  . . . he said he was over at a friends of his and they were cleaning out the garage and came across a 340 motor.  He got on the phone and called one of my CHebbie buddies that told him this was a MOPAR motor and to call 4Cruzin.  SO my phone rings and he tell me that this motor was pulled in the 70's for a big block by his father and he really doesn't remember what car it came out of and has been sitting in the garage ever since and he really just wants to get rid of it.  Doesn't know what it's worth and would take 100 bucks for it.  So I bought it sight unseen.  Kind of guttsy!  Maybe I'll get lucky and it will be an AAR motor!  lol  Guy said he would deliver it from Detroit to my house.  I'll post some #'s when it arrives this next week.  If it's a good motor and all checks, may go in that challenger I might build next!   :naughty:     :grinyes:

Awesome stuff 4C!!! You should run the numbers past Barry, someone maybe looking for it....you'll still get good dollars if someone is hunting their engine down. You maybe able to reunite a car and her engine.

If no one claims it....you lucky bastard!  :roflsmiley: :lol2:

Hell no, that is a great score 4C. What do 340 70 blocks usually go for on eBay? 2-3K?  :dunno: :22yikes:

Not sure if it's a 70 block yet . . . have to wait and see.  Tough to go wrong and I'm sure it was a complete motor so hopefully some good parts at least!   :dogpile:

As long as it was kept inside all these years, I think I would have jumped at it too. Good luck Dave.  :clapping:  :jumping:
