Not as common as bucket seats since it was an extra cost option, and available on automatic cars only.

FY1, check this car out. I remember seeing it and thought it was awful odd.  :screwy:

Yes, Barry and I have had several conversations about that car.  Interesting that the fender tag is the only picture out of focus.  Without a BS really hard to validate the originality.

Here is a clearer photo of that tag, it does show H4 and not H6. I would bet that it is a typo and should have read H6 though. I would love to see a broadcast sheet for the car.

Back in a sec......

Here is somthing that I am curious about, this is the floor of the same car from the auction. Note the circled areas, these are the inner bucket seat reinforcements. Can somebody with an original 1971 bench seat car check to see if their car has these please?  :dunno:  :clueless:  :1zhelp:

Thanks,
Barry

It seems that there are a few out there.  I hadn't seen one in all my hunting.  Where do I find a bench seat that I can put this car back to original?

My original 440+6 car is a bench seat car, it's never been out of the car and is all original. My car has the support plates Barry asked about as shown on the ebay car. However, that being said, I am 99.9% sure that car on ebay did not have a bench seat from the factory, there is nothing that would change my mind short of an original Broadcast Sheet, I think, as mentioned above, that the fender tag was a typo. Not to mention that the car in question is so far from original (color change, engine swap, etc.) it could never be used as a "reference" example. The ONLY reason I leave .01% in doubt is due to the "Never say never with Chrysler" escape clause should some REAL document surface proving otherwise.

The reason I am so sure is that the 4 speed shifter will hit a bench seat in some positions, this could create a rather large liability for Chrysler should a car be nudged out of gear by accident by another interfering componant of the car like the seat (say when parked on a hill, etc.). It's not something they'd build IMO.

I saw an AAR with a bench seat and column shift at a car show recently, I bet they didn't make too many of those

Oddly enough, AARs with column shift are fairly common, I know of 116 so far. Of those, 65 are known with bench seats.

I like the bench myself.

More rare is buckets with column like Lucy had. Have all original parts in storage.
440 Magnum R/T with bucket seats and column shift (no C16 but C55 on the fender).

I have still only seen 2 or 3 R/T's with that option and a couple of T/A's or AARs.
One B5/B5 blue AAR with bucket and column was quite keuwl.
Do you have that one registery Barry?  :dunno:

Hey Carl,
I have four EB5 AARs listed with the column / bench combination and none with EB5 column / buckets so far. I have less than half of them on file so far so there could be some out there for sure.
