SUPERBEE REGISTRY
« on: April 17, 2006 - 06:29:39 AM »
To all board members, I wasn't sure where to put this, so dropped it here.  It a request for all Superbee owners to register their vehicle through the following web site.  I realize that it's not for E-bodies but many of you are like me and own more than just one Mopar.  It's hard to believe that they only have 338 vehicles registered.  That's includes all four years the superbee was produced.
Hopefully, I'll reach a few through the medium.

Thanks,
FY1443433

To date (March 26, 2006) there are (338) vehicles registered.
We are the original Super Bee Registry established in 1992 and specialize in production facts and date for this vehicle. We have been accumulating original production information including both standard and special vehicle equipment options since 1978. Currently we are in the continuing process of registering all existing Dodge Super Bee’s produced from 1968-1971, in order to accumulate real data.
There is no charge to register your vehicle. The registry has provided and will continue to provide invaluable information of the vehicles remaining to its members. The following information will be provided in the database as submitted: several options, condition, vehicle ID number, production date and shipping order number.
Note: When we publish the accumulated vehicle information databases no names or addresses are given if told not to.
To register your vehicle, please fill out as much information as possible on the attached Fact and Data Sheet. Also, please submit a copy of your broadcast sheet (if available) and a pencil rubbing of your vehicle identification number tag and/or body code plate (if available). In addition, please submit a photograph of your vehicle for our records.
As a service to our members, at no charge, we will answer any questions, decode broadcast sheets, and body code plate (fender tag) to the best of our ability with the available information.
Should you have any questions or if we can be of any assistance to you feel free to contact us.
Registry Form
Registry Integrity - The integrity of the site and all registered vehicles must either be physically inspected by some one from the registry or a pencil rubbing of the VIN and fender tag if available must be submitted in order to have their vehicle registered.
Thank you,
Super Bee Team

I know a guy from back home who has a '71 superbee 440-6 4spd car, orange with white top I think. Its all original and sitting in his barn for as long as I can remember. I'll see if my brother can talk to him, maybe get a couple pics and a pic of the fender tag. That way it can be put in the registry as I assume its one of the rarer superbees. It also has an airgrabber hood. Can't remember any other details as I was about 15 when I seen it.

No chance, asked him numberous times. He's old, has lots of money, no family and loves his mopars. Has a 73 cuda 4spd numbers matching car, 69 440-6 road runner, the superbee, and a number of other cars I can't recall. He ordered this superbee in 71,  the car came in and was more then he could afford at the time, he then found the car about 10 years later, bought it and hasn't touched it. He doesn't like showing people his cars but likes my brother, if he ever decides to sell (since he has no family to leave to), he may sell to him. But I've been saying that for 10 years.

I just found out after all these years this car is actually a 1971 440-6 V code Superbee, Orange with white interior and black top/stripes. Its actually an Auto and not a 4spd, but get this, its a Auto on the column with a bench seat car, my brother just told me this...lol. We were talking about approaching him with a good offer and see if he will bite.   :2thumbs:

I will def get pics this time.

I don't think its a Mr Norms Car, this is a Canadian car, was ordered by the guy new. He lives on the east coast of Canada.  I really can't wait to see it, won't be till spring though.

NO offense but, that's not true!  You could not get an Air Grabber hood on a 71 Charger nor would you have 150 miles per speed odometer.  The 71 Superbee came with the ralley cluster and that was not available on the plan jane charger.

The holes in the hood were two different size.  The regular superbee hood insert was larger and air grabber was just a square opening in the hood for the scoop, thus it was much smaller.  The 71 Charger R/T also had the same hoods.

All 71-72 Chargers that had a rallye gauge's, went to 150 MPH. 1973 and up they went to 120 mph.  Air grabber hoods were only installed in about 5 percent of cars.  The R/T hood and the Superbee are the same. The inserts were interchangable.  :2cents:

4 Years later here are the pics of this car. Me and my brother drove down and had a great 2 hour talk with a 79 year old mopar ethusiast. The story of this car is fit for a magazine and his collection backs up his passion for mopars. The pics here are of his 71 6 pack Superbee.

**Brief story on this car, he ordered it new, car was delivered at a price tag more then he could afford at the time. Him and his wife drove the car home to his farm for the weekend, shot film video of the car and had to return it. Years later seen the car broke down in the summer with the window party down, his wife slipped a note in the window and they ended up buying the car back. There actually a lot more to the store but that is the short. What an amazing husband/wife mopar couple.   :2thumbs:

Car is all original paint, seats have new covers....and he painted interior floors. Pretty cool car.
