    I considered getting another pair of grips and trying to put a mini, small, teeny button in there. But the wiring for it to go inbetween the shifter and the slapstick handle would be extremely tight and probably effect how the shifter pushes down which wouldnt be good for anyone. Then possibly having to drill into the handle itself is a little too bold for me  :lol: So my line lock switch is my horn button, its a little more complicated than that wiring wise, but thats what i push  :grinyes: :wave:

    Yip, my resto team had a real good look at the existing handles, solid billet or steel with woodgrain screwed in. The wire can by placed in a cut grove along the steel piece but towards the bottom of the grip that woodgrain gets mighty thin and you could run the risk of breaking it.  :( Then of course if you do get it to that stage where to from there? You can't go down because you'll run into the button mech and past that point the wire will get tangled in the gear selection detents. It "can" be done but would take a lot of man hours and a lot of fine craftsmanship.

    I just went with the floor shift toggle/button with a red boot around it signifying that it's the "GO" button!  :naughty:
    When harms do create the button shifters (estimated 2-4 months away) I'll buy one of those grips and be set!

    NZ, If you look for a spare broken cluster (ebay?), you could put one of those guages in the Ampmeter slot and one in the empty slot on the far right. I have a dgital voltmeter and added a shift light to my Ralley cluster. I didn't like a bunch of hanging guages either.

    Those pistol grip handles for the auto are definitely the way to go!

    What bugs me now is my autometers hanging down under the dash. I had two and they were fine, then i bypassed the amp gauge and had to go with a volt gauge...one toooooo mannyyy down there  :sly: so now i have the matching speedo, fuel gauge, and a spare stock gauge bezel that the autometers will go up in and they will still shine green. Should be a good mix with the new gauges, still black, stock bezel and original lookin green lighting  :dogpile: :cheers:

    I am sorry to hyjack this thread, but Goodys quandry reminded me of a car dash that I saw last year.  He has a 5" speedo and 2 5/8" gauges for everything else.  They are Auto Meter sport comp gauges and I think they look pretty good in this configuration.

     Wow that looks good! But I think those guages must be 2 1/16", I had a 2 5/8" oil pressure guage and it did not fit in like that, just the guage sat in and the trim was sticking out.  :dunno:

    Oops, Sorry NZ, I didn't think that you had that standard dash, since you show a rallye cluster in your sig.
    The dash up above looks like he has put the guages in from behind the front face to make it look flush.

    that does look awesome i must say! my 2 5/8" just slide in, now i have to go see if im skilled enough to make it like that  :ylsuper:

    Goody, does your 2 5/8" guages fit in like they do? I would think the bezel would be a lot bigger then 2 5/8" that why I think they may be 2 1/16". Let me know how you make out.

    Just spent a few minutes looking it over. I have a 2 5/8" autometer with me, and i also have a a/f ratio autometer 2 1/16" and i dont think theres any way to make that 1/16" fit in there like they did...its just too small. Some how they mounted 2 5/8" from behind, but i have no clue how to do it  :eek4:

    I'm thinking maybe he got a 2 3/8" or something around there sized hole saw and made the holes bigger since the autometers bezels are larger diameter than the rest of the gauge  :clueless: i cant tell in the picture if the factory little lip/bezel is still around the gauges

    i can take pics if needed

    i agree it looks awesome, im also curious on how (im pretty sure they are mounted from behind...)...how he mounted the gauges like that. Some kinda fabbed piece of metal behind the bezel or something  :clueless:

    suurre would be nice if he happened to be a member  :rofl:
