70 Challenger asking 30K
« on: April 17, 2006 - 03:20:19 PM »
Here is a car I saw sitting down the road from me today.  Stopped and grabbed a couple pics so I could show everyone!  Looks like a really nice car . . didn't get to see under the hood but it had 340 badges and looks like really clean car.  If anyone wants more info . . I will get a number for ya.  This is not my car!  Asking 30K

Something isn't quite right. In 1970, only big blocks were R/T's.  :screwy:

Hey 4C where is located? I would like to take a look at it, see how it compares to mine. May help in determining a price.

Were you up by this car to check out the vin/tranny 4C?     I think it looks like a good car for someone. Curious to know if its actually an R/T, but with an incorrect engine.

Hello Mopar Enthusiasts,

Just registered as a new member to the site.  Have been scouring the internet for several months looking for my dream Challenger ('70, R/T, 440, 40spd, etc.) ever since Dodge announced the Challenger concept.  Since about 20 years ago (when I was in my mid 20s and owned a '71, 318, auto, base challenger) I have always dreamed of owning a true muscle version of my mild mannered base car.  Needless to say, it has been challenging to find the right car at a fair price.  I am not a bargain hunter.  Just looking for an "honest" car from an honest seller at a fair price.  This car looks like a worthy contender.  Would be very interested in additional inf and photos.  In what stat is the vehicle located?
1970 Challenger Convertible (JH27N0B); Resto-Mod; 605 HP, 412cid Small Block; Holley 750CFM Carburetor; A-833 23-spline 4-SPD; A-body 8.75 rear-end w/3.55 gears; 3" mini-tub; leaf spring relocation kit with split-leaf mono and Caltracs; American Racing AR500 Wheels, Rears = 15x10 (5.5" BS) with 315/60-15 BFG Comp T/A Drag Radials; Fronts = 15x7 (3.5" BS) with 215/70-15 BFG Radial T/A Radials.

I may have solved the mystery on the RT/SE/340 on this car.....there is one just like it listed in the May 2006 Hemmings that states it is a 1972 Challenger 340 restored in the late 70's to resemble a 1970 Challenger RT.
pics look identical and asking price is $35,000

here is the contact info from Hemmings    ma56@aol.com

has Ohio listed as location in ad......

Yes the SE should have a small window but if was a real SE it is a 36 year old car and who knows what could happen?

also see my post above that I think this is the same car in Hemmings....
