Nice stuff. Are you considering going with one of those motors?

As much as I do like the 383, the one I have is all rebuilt and ready to go but it's either going in the barn for later project or on the market. I have a 500 stroker that's already completed and going into the engine bay soon. You can just about make anything scream like a cat with turpintine on it's rear but I guess it just depends on what you want or already have to build. That 383 stroker would be a torque maker for sure!   :grinyes:

Low Deck 383/400 block based strokers are neat engines ! The 400 block at a common bore 3.75" using same 2.200" Cheb journal and 4.250 stroke is better yet @ 510 Inch.

Curious about weight. If the 383 would be a good alternative to running a big block but having the weight of a small block. Nothing against small blocks...I have high hopes of eventually putting a Paxton or similar on my 383 to make up for the size difference. SOME of the imports are making some big power numbers with forced induction.

I would of thought a 383 would be pretty much the same weight as a 440.

And a small block is about 140 lbs lighter than a 440, correct?
