I didn't get the car back this week but I was able to pull the motor apart today. I'm going to run the block down to the machine shop tomorrow morning.

Sure is a lot of dirty work involved getting these the way you want them, but it will all be worth it. Keep up the good work!  :clapping:

At least that was the last of the dirty work. I am finally past the tearing apart stage. Everything from here on in will be putting it back together. That feels good.

I think I'm going to hold on to them for now. I have my eye on a 63 nearby. sorry.

Well I got the car back from paint today!!!!!!!!! Its red and shiny. Cant wait to colorsand now  :eek4:

Overall it looks really nice. I'm just dissapointed I missed a couple small dings here and there. Ohh well, maybe they wont be noticable after buffing and with all the trim. For my 1st attempt, I'd say I did ....fair. Maybe I'll upgrade that to pretty good after sanding :)

Here are a couple pics

 That was a lot of work in one day!!! Love the color, hope you get the little flaws straightened out, can't wait to see it all put together. Should be real similar to the one in the pic, right? Sweet!

The body should look just like that finished picture with the exception that mine will have a white interior and I am going with the stock steel wheels painted body color.

I got cracking on the aluminum trim yesterday night.

Here is a before and after picture. The original stuff is so oxidized it almost looks white. The 1st piece I did turned out so nice it looks like I had it chromed.

On my coronet; I just stripped the annodizing, sanded up to 400 grain and polished with mothers aluminum polish. I thought it turned out nice, but this time, I sanded up to 800 grit and then ran4 different grades of joulers rouge on it and then finished up with mothers.

One piece done...10 to go...  :grinno:

The picture doesn't do it much justice, I cant wait to see how it looks after brite dip
