Correct side mirrors for a 70 Barracuda?
« on: April 21, 2006 - 11:20:31 AM »
I noticed after having my car for many years that the racing mirror on the drivers door and the one on the passenger door are different. Looking at the mirror side, it’s obvious that one is oval and the other is more rectangular.  Both are the racing mirrors.  Is one for a Challenger?

No worry. That was another 70 only thing. The passenger's side was more tear dropped(for lack of a better word).

Wow.  So the two different shapes were done on purpose?  Was that the precursor to today's passenger side "objects are closer than the appear" mirrors?

My passenger side mirror wobbles where the mirror housing meets the mounting base. That can't be good. :'(

there is a Phillips screw under the base holding it together , it just needs to be tightened

Don't undstand why they were only one year, they look much better than the 71-74 mirrors. :clueless:

I think that both side mirrors should have the shape of the 1970 passenger mirror, it looks a lot cleaner to me.

That passenger side mirror, or either one being short base, are pricey little buggers! :grinyes:

If you take the mirror off the car  you can tighten it with a screw underneath
