Took Cuda to it's first car show.
« on: April 23, 2006 - 11:01:36 PM »
I took my Cuda out to a car show over by Saint Louis, Mo. today. It was a great turn out with over 700 cars showing up. There was not many different classes so I just entered the Mopar class and took 2nd place being beat out of first by a PT Cruiser. He should of been in the newer cars class but they told you if could do better in a different class that fit your car you could enter it there. I took several pictures of some nice Cuda and Challenger cars and will post some here for everyone to look at including my 70 Cuda and 71 Challenger.

And my Cuda and Challenger at the show today. We missed the rain and it was a great day for a ride to the car show. Boy I love the warm weather and the cars. This show was held right at gateway raceway which is the drag strip for Saint Louis with a test and tune and a dyno set up to test your car. I can't wait for the next show.

wow, lots of awesome cars. Nothing against the PT Cruisers.....but how in the heck did one beat out all of those nice cars? It must have been something really special! When they first came out, I wanted to get one and stuff a 426 Hemi in the back of it running it direct drive to the rear axles. It would have been a great little wheelie car. I had planned to name it "Hemi Under Glass" as a tribute to it's ancestry. The Hemi would have been visible through the rear and side windows with the headers and blower coming through the roof (ala Zinger style). That's the only PT Cruiser I think would be able to beat out these cars.

I walked through all the cars at the show and don't even remember seeing the PT Cruiser as it must not have been a stand out or I would of remembered seeing it. The show gave out trophys and cash awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each class. Several of the other people with Mopar entries at the car show came up to me afterwards and also wondered how a PT Cruiser could of took 1st place in our class? I may never know the answer to that question and may not want to know.

No pics of the PT? LOL.

Those A-bodies look nice.  The '70 Gran Coupe is cool too (always nice to see a GC).  Thanks for posting the pics.
