    Found some TA Blocks - now the rest of the story

    I found these  3 TA Blocks and 2 of three have serious issues. I have the best one at the hop for magnaflux. When they finish with it I'm going to get opinions on the other 2. From discusions though it doesn't look to good.

    Barry thinks this one may have come from a Super Bee or Road Runner. The third block has no numbers so a warrenty block maybe.

    It would be too cool if the 71 block had 'TA' on the side, then you could start building the only legit 71 T/A  :cooldancing:

    Yes...although now i'm :clueless: If no 71 Trans Am cars were built, how did a 71 block wind up with T/A cast into the side?? :dunno: Maybe more than just an airbrushed ad was created before production plans were halted ::)...Barry, can you shed some light on this?

    Easier to take a blank TA VIN pad and put the VIN of your choice in.

    (Not saying to do that, but someone could have already done it)  Love to know more about it!  Great find!

    Most of the time didn't they use the letter "I" for the number "1"?  I could be wrong, but I thought I've seen that before.  ???

    Would be cool if it was a 71!!!!!!!!

    They had left over blocks for the T/A Challenger and AAR Cudas. The plan was to go racing in 1971 but the program got scrapped. It's not uncommon to find these blocks in some late 1970 and early 1971 340 applications. Cody, what I don't want, because it's going to be to expensive to repair, I'm returning to the fellow I got them from with a refund. I'll be happy to pass on the information once I've completed my transaction. I got the word fron the machine shop today that the best one may need a sleeve.
    Cody, If your handy with a nickel welding rod maybe you can fix this bad boy. :clueless:
