The specials.  They put stock they want to shift fast on end caps. It sells quicker.....(ex-storeman)

Oh, oh.  That might mean that they'll run out fast and might not stock up!  Better hit the Wal Mart fast!

:clueless:  Well I guess that might make sense to someone.... :dunno:

The "end cap" is the display at the end of an isle.

That is where they place seasonal or on sale items”

Twenty years in retail, has finally paid off……Thanks Rev!

I understand about the end caps...I don't understand why they would be by school supplies.  :dunno:  Oh well, some things are better left to the professionals!

You want rime and reason why they put things where they do.
  :roflsmiley:
Good luck!  The retail industry has very little rime and they are lacking big time in the reason department as well. JK they have some of the best marketing people in the business.

Ever-wonder way they put the dairy products in the back of the store.
Ninety percent of the people, who enter a grocery store, purchase a dairy item, and the longer they keep you in the store the more money you spend.

One of our favorites, was to bake bread during the evening rush, fresh bread sells increased 37%.

Next time you go down the cereal isle, check out where they put the kid’s cereal….right at their eye level.

Ah Iv heard of these things too.
In supermarkets they have uncovered concrete floors so that people think they are making so little profit that they cant even afford nice flooring (or something to that effect) but it actually costs quite a lot to lay down concrete that can take hundreds of people pushing trolleys across it every day, as well as support all the shelving without cracking.

Thats about the only thing I remember from economics last year.
