valve covers
« on: April 27, 2006 - 10:55:53 AM »
I`m about to buy chrome valve covers with no texture or letters stamped into them. The one I found says
"not show chrome"(I beleave it was from Y1), whats the difference between show chrome and non-show chrome
and what was the chrome like from the factory?
thanks in advance

That's a new one on me.  :clueless: I've seen the phrase "show chrome" used on bumpers and mirrors, but not valve covers. What size engine do you have? I'm not aware any engine had chrome valve covers from the factory, unless maybe a Hemi.  :dunno: Sorry I can't help more.

What Y1 has I believe are relatively cheep aftermarket items I see on eBay for as low as $15.00. Mopar Performance has some really nice Aluminum covers I'm saving up for. Here is an example from Summit Racing. They have them for big & small block, Polished & black crinkle.

Mancini racing advertises SHOW QUALITY CROME for about the Y1 price.
