« on: April 27, 2006 - 04:32:55 PM »
Ok today was the track rental day at Atco. Trailered my challenger out there. 90% street car drive it everywhere (mild 446") all steel power steering,brakes,a/c etc.

WELLLLLLLLl First run , i go 11.67,coming down pit road i get told i am leaking! AHHH! Pop the hood, the clutch fan went right through my new be cool radiator!  :crying:

I drive an hour home and pick up an old rad,fan and a ton of tools, then an hour back! We get it running again and i  go up to stage. a few high 11.40's runs!! OMG

Next run! 11.36 @ 119 !!!!!!!!!  :dogpile:  :eek2:  :wow:

HOLY COW!!!!!! 1.58 60ft time pickin the wheels up 4inches!! Street car , FULL tank of gas jaming out to the radio!  A few more passes and more 11.40 runs and called it quits b/c my tire was rubbing my leaf spring.  MAN AM I SUPRISED IMPRESSED PROUD HAPPY!!!!  :wavingflag:

Nice times! Have you ever run it on street tires to see how much the slicks are helping your times?

Yea, I know, seems traitorous....But I pull my junk around with a Toyota Tachoma, here's why.....

#1. Resale value is as high as it gets for any new rig
#2. It was priced right
#3. It pulls right up to (and even past) it's reccomended towing capacity at the speed limit anywhere I've been (Rocky    Mountains, etc.) all the while delivering 12MPG pulling a complete E-body on a steel car trailer.
#4. It has never required anything other than gas, oil, & tires with 42K on the clock, it's been rock solid dependable.
#5. I didn't buy it to tow, I bought it as a driver and light duty hauling (16-17mpg average), but on the occasion where I do use it to tow it does a great job.

Anyway, if I were buying a tow rig it would be a Dodge Diesel. End of story.
