« on: April 29, 2006 - 07:38:05 PM »
hello to all, heres my question--------would it be wrong to ask for a finders fee on a car like this car that just went up for sale? and it is for sale and its a #s 440 6pack 4spd.

I know that some people offer (and charge) finders fees, I have helped people find cars and they have offered a fee, but I tell them no. If a car is for sale and needs a new home, it needs a new home and I am just happy to help.

I just dont want to feel greedy but my challenger resto would benefit a great deal and help in getting another mopar back on the streets.plus if i could afford it i would buy the bird myself so maybe im a little jealous that somebody else is gonna have it.and this photo shows the car that would benefit

Just food for thought here, but what if....

I knew of a set of rust free doors and a decklid for your car, they are for sale, and the guy selling them just happened to find a broadcast sheet in his car that matches yours.

What would be best? Should I charge you for the guys phone number or just give it to you?

Purely hypothetical of course, but personally I would just give you his number.

I'm sure it's to rich for my blood, but what is the asking price for it?

If it's a good deal and new buyer completes the transaction, then offers you a fee for the help... that's all good.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

If you were a mate of mine, or not....if you told me about the car I would definitely give you a little dosh for your help.
If it wasn't for you the car would be elsewhere.....I don't see this as greedy.

Like Cody says, if you make a little money out of it, so be it.

If you knew of someone looking for a car you could offer to find it for them for a fee, or in this case maybe  the seller does not know the best way to get a good price for the vehicle so you could contract to act as his agent. Research & appraise the vehicle, give the seller some idea of what to expect. Take pictures, place adds, and handle the sell (like a real estate broker). You could require a set fee or maybe a percentage of the sell.

If a friend of mine was looking for paperwork, parts or a certain car I would gladly give him any info I had but in your case that Superbird is a big money car and the owner will obviuosly make lots of money on it and any buyer for it has money to spend. The buyer could also turn around and sell it for a profit so I would have no problem getting a small fee for finding the car a new home.

Moparclown,

I couldn't buy the Bird even if I wanted it.  ( no space for it, no money for it)   :walkaway:   BUT,  I may have an interested party concerning the 68 car.  Any more info available, or possibly any approximate prices?  Thanks in advance...   Oldschool
BTW---concerning a finders fee, do what you feel led to do.  Either way is ok.....

What kind of money we talking bout for the bird?

BTW,I think the guy you are advertising the car for should front you some money if your contact leads to a sale.

hi everyone, well i have been busy but i want to give you guys an update on the bird and the ss/aa cuda.they are both going up for sale, price right now ?------just be a little patient this comming sunday i will help my friend get both cars removed from the garage, its gonna be a little work to do this they have been hidden away in there for a long time.we will have to remove work benches and move quite a bit of a collection of mopar parts and engines.the bird will be running so the buyer knows that this is a running car.and i think that the bird is #s matching right down to the carbs,he said when that car got parked it was a running driving car so keep that in mind if you have any interest in it.As for the cuda its a 68 formula s 383 car,but has been set up to run a hemi, and he said that he would sell that rolling/or with a hemi engine he has for it.but until we get the cars and the parts removed i really cant tell you anything more about them except that i wish i could buy them.
