Hi from FL
« on: May 01, 2006 - 06:37:41 AM »
Hi everyone, I'm not a 'Cuda owner (yet), but I'll be building one soon.  Just wanted to take a minute to say hi to everyone and I'm hoping I can get a lot of guidence from people in here.  I've got tons of great ideas for my car, but don't have the knowledge to know if it will work.

Thanks again and look forward to posting some pics soon.

Well, I like the look of a '73, but I'm looking to stay within the 1970-1974 range.  I don't like the looks of the older 65-69 models (no offense to those who have them).  I'm looking to build a 440 6-pack from the ground up.  I grew up in MA where my dad owns a garage, so I was a mechanic for 10 or so years.  I've been out of it for about the same time, but feel I can do this.  All it takes is time, research and good networking and I should be ok.  I would like an auto trani (727 maybe?  not too sure if this is an auto or not) only because I'd like to be able to do 99% of the work on this car and I really don't know a whole lot about clutches.

I'm not worried if the motor matches the original one that came with the car, I simply don't have that type of money to invest to get it back to 'original' form.  From the cuda's I've seen for sale so far on the internet, they're pricey.  I've read a couple of posts on this forum that the 440 is a good motor to build and one of the cheapest ones at that.  I'm not looking to race the car by any means, just want a sunday driver and maybe take to a couple of local shows to have fun when my kids get older.  But I'm a muscle car NUT, so I want this car to look bad, really raw, nasty, and mean looking :villagers:.  Check out this car that I found for sale:

http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/6/3/81765963.htm

To me, that car looks bad to the bone.  Simple, yet it's got a few mods that make it stand out and look mean as all sin.  I'll be building my car to look something like that, I hope :naughty:.

I'm open to ALL suggestions/comments because again, I'm new to building a car and welcome all comments.

Welcome to the site, RDF!  Your plans for a 'Cuda project sound great.  You may want to do a search for Blowfish on here to check out his ride. :faint:  It'd definitely be cool to build something like his, but it depends on how much money you want to put into it.

I didn't see any results for Blowfish.  Are they under a different name?

Sorry about that.  I couldn't remember who posted the photos for them.  Here's the link showing both their cars. Pink Ice is his wife's and Blowfish is his sweet ride.  (528 Hemi Cuda)
