Some People....(hitting cuda rant)
« on: May 02, 2006 - 03:54:14 PM »
As you may or may not know, my 'Cuda is my means of transportation. School, work, day, night, rain, shine, etc etc. Abouta week ago someone decided to smack the CRAP outta my bumper. Dented it hard right smack in the middle. No clue who it was. Got my new repop bumper today and im finding out just how outta whack these brackets are now. I've never really had to do body/fitment work so its not the easiest thing for me to tackle..

Going to work:
Bumper $257
Bumper Bolts $14
Shipping $50ish
Attempting to straightened jacked up bumper brackets $Sucks

 :villagers: ok, im done now.

Look on the bright side, you could have been driving a ricer & it would have been totaled.  :money:

Why are there mean people in this world?
Why can’t they leave other peoples stuff alone? :villagers:

You have every right to rant….they suck!

It has happened to most of us, not sure if it jealousy, or just stupidity.

I am sorry that you had to go through this.

:iagree:  I've seen what happens first hand when someone either envies your ride so much they feel they need to ruin something on it to make themselves feel happy or they just have conflicting views for your ride.  My friend spent a lot of time/money restoring his '66 Ford pickup, then it was severly keyed outside our Wal-Mart store while he was inside buying some stuff. (maybe 15 minutes in store, if that.)  If I don't like a vehicle someone's driving or has parked, (like funny looking Rice) I just say something about it to myself or whoever is with me.  I don't get out of my vehicle with a tire iron and start beating the thing in... :screwy:  Some people need to learn the hard way what happens with they mess with people's rides for no reason. :hyper:

Usually it's one of two things that happen..either the person is jealous of your car and they damage it intentionally to make themselves feel better in some perveted way, or it's a person who just does not care a lick about cars. This is the type of person who would open their door and slam it into your car, and if you saw it happen and confronted them, they'd respond "What, it's just a car???"

Good luck fixing it....sucks to have to deal with this kind of thing.

Goody,

Man just take it in stride. I figure some where in the life of my cuda some one is going to hit it. All i really can say is i hope they got dam good insurance. Also they better have a solid car because once i get done reinforcing my bummers watch out.  :angelwings:     I'll tell you right now i am not messing around with a cheap paint job, a simple scratch will piss me off and cost some dough to fix.

Finding the person who did this and kick thier butt:  Priceless.

That stinks what happened to you.  I hate when people do that.  People don't have a sense of responsibility today anymore.  No regards for others.  Thier insurance probably would've covered it but now you have to dish out over $300 of your own money and the headache of fixing it.  That stinks!  Hope no body damage was done.

Where was it done?  Did it happen at school or somewhere where there might be witnesses?

Hope all works out for you!  You've got every right to rant!

That sucks that it happened to you.  My Cuda got rear-ended at high speed on the highway last month by an uninsured driver.  I hope THAT never happens to you.

One way to deal with butt nuggets like that might be to put a good modern alarm on your car that will page you when it's tampered with.  At least you could come out running, have a chance to spot the person and ID their plates.  I'm in the middle of putting an alarm on my new 74 Barracuda with a 440 in it  :ylsuper:  My other answer to it was not to drive it every day.  Yesterday I bought a 68 Chevy 4x4 with big ole 33" tires (I looked for a Ram, just couldn't find a good one at a good price).  Let 'em rear-end that!

Best of luck with the bumper.

Thanks for the support. After a couple hours of trying to get the four bolts to like up AND make it fit to the body i think ive about tried my best. Anyone happen to have some non smacked bumper brackets out there for sale  :crying: This really does suck, i need to order some bumper guards two since when removing them the bottom studs on each broke (as this mishap gets MORE expensive  :banghead:) :eek4: Any suggestion on trying to find some repop bumper guards? ive yet to see someone selling them.

Thanks

 Man that sucks!
It's hard to see the damage from that picture, but did they hit your bumper with an Axe?
