400 with the 440 crank = 451 & looks stock + it will make more power than a 440 

100% in agreement with CP. The 451 is the best of both of worlds - you get all the cubic inches of a 440, but with the revving capabilties and size of a 383 which means a little more clearance. The 440 would be a little cheaper to build but I wouldn't use it because the car is originally a B-engine car and if you use the 400 then it will look 100% original.

Alright, I talked with the guy some more about the motors. The 400 has been hit by some weather, so internals is unknown.... Also, if it's locked up or not is also unknown..... The 440, he wants $500 for the motor, but it's been rebuilt, he stated that he was there when it was done, and he gave me specific details about the build, he said that there was a deck plate used, and crank was turned (if I remember right) 10/10. The bore is .030 over. It's got the R/T heads, but it's a later block. Now, the 383 that's in there now, well...... It's in the car... I'm not sure about the year. One of these days, here's gonna be me:
