Cuda fraud on E-bay
« on: May 05, 2006 - 05:01:40 PM »
Mods .....can we leave this on here for maximum visability....I dont want anyone getting ripped off here. This is the cuda I sold last year....NON-numbers matching car, with fiberglass front fenders.....now it's majicly #'s matching and no mention of glass fenders. I sent the seller an e-mail calling him on it....I'll see if he responds. Here is the link, if you need any details about this car, PM me.

I dont have any problems with people reselling cars i sell for a profit, but i do have problems with people misrepresenting those cars to maximize their profit.

Here is the link

Larry,
Did you sell your car to this dealer? Maybe the guy you sold it to, turned around and sold it to this dealer while misrepresenting it? In any case, if this guy has any clue, he should be able to tell a fake.

This car has been sold twice since I sold it....and both times it was sold as a non-numbers car....suddenly it's a numbers car...so I'll just caution everyone to take a CLOSE look at this one if you are intrested. Funny thing is, if i remember correctly, the block is a later (mid 80's ) short block. I asked the seller for pics of the VIN pad and casting dates on the block and trans. I'll update if i get a response.

BTW...the car looks almost EXACTLY the way i sold it....only diff is an aftermarket stereo, and the correct air cleaner which i know the guy i sold it to added. Everything else matches the pics I have of the car.

nice job Hemi, lot of un-expecting people out there.  nice to see there are still people with morals ( I wouldn't expect anything else from our members, cause they are the greatest)  So many people trying to make a quick buck, sometimes it is just ashamed.

I didn't see where he stated the engine numbers matched? But I did see this and chuckled a little

Sounds like a Pontiac guy "Lucerne" blue and removed from the frame?  That must have been tough!  :roflsmiley:

I saw it last night and thought it was a Pontiac guy too. He sez it has a 360 HO...
( at least he didn't say it was a Magnum )

The fenders look pretty nice in the pics though....

The ad did say that the matching numbers motor was in the car. Maybe they restamped the block. The casting dates should tell the story! Theres way too many scammers on E bay!

hemi71, must be kind of eerie seeing a car you used to own, and see all the dumbass ballyhooing made to it in the name of profit....see the incorrect Rallye dash gauge faces....these scream repro! Also whats up with zero miles....  :dunno:

Sadly, we will see people like these as vintage Ma Mopar cars gain word of mouth in the wake of Cuda/new Challenger awareness. Good to have people here, also BarryT/A to track VIN's of these losers down.....

HEMI71,

Report it to EBAY! They need to know about this one. If you don't, someone is going to get burned!

Just an update....the seller never did send me any proof that the car is #'s matching....no surprise there, he just ignored my e-mail. I noticed the auction is a private one, so you can bet there are at least a few shills in there pushing the price.

How does that work?

How does that work?

Just get a couple of your friends to bid it up. That's what I don't like about the private auction thing. In my opinion, I don't like it. If there are one or two Newbie's, or people with zero feedback bidding it up, you can smell a rat. I think it all should be out on the table, so to speak.

HEMI71, keep asking him for some picture of engine and trans vin numbers.

 :iagree: private auction is stupid.
