A fun Saturday full of Mopars -- and C-C.com friends!

So, like crcarch said in the "Beast claims another victim" thread, it was a beautiful day to be out cruising and putting the Challenger to some other good uses than weather-proofing the streets with rubber.  Hangin out with OldSchool is such a blast! He's even funnier in person (I mean with the constant humor... :roflsmiley: I think he was born with a few too many funny bones -  if you know what I mean)  Anyway this fundraiser was for Sunshine Kids, a non-profit group that provides activities for young kids going through cancer treatments.  They had about 5 guys from the local fire dept bring one of their big engines for an attraction...  Here's where we hung out...  meeting people, redlining engines (with open cutouts) and getting some of that good cook-out.

When crcarch showed up, it became a party.  This pic before Pixie was eaten alive.   :eek4:

Then we cruised a few miles north and hung out at a cruise-in complete with an outdoor band playing 60's-70s rock and an Elvis was performing there too.  I'd guess a few hundred cars - and a handful of mopars -  here are a few pics from the night:

We also met up with cuda-challenger member Got JOB!  Here's his 71 vert:

Now why in the world do people compliment our rides with "That's an awesome Charger!"  and "Man, from the time I was a kid I wanted a Charger like that!"   :clueless:

I think CRCARCH is trying to fix the problem with his avatar:

Anyway-  it was a great day-  now the Challey is safe back in the garage,  probably chatting with the Pixie_Duster.

Looks like you guys had a blast!     Great pics.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

If my Coronet R/T was a bit farther along towards becoming long-distance-drivable, it would have been cool being the second 67 on display...soon maybe ::) ::)   Glad ya's had a good time with a nice turnout

It was a great night in Cartersville hanging out with Rev & Redline and especially hitching a ride with Oldschool in the BEAST.

It was my first time in anything like her and Oldschool took it easy on me.  It's an amazing ride and handled the 40 mile round trip with ease. Of course he barely had to take it above idle to get it up to highway speeds, even with the 4.10's out back.  I was able to get Oldschool to blip the throttle just once for me.  Let's just say the memory of that experience will be a lasting one.  Instant response and mountain moving torque...UNBELIEVABLE!

I was able to capture Redline showing off his newly installed cut-outs.  He say's that when he and Rev are out and about and the ricers start to get annoying, he just opens 'em up and lets the intimidation factor take it from there.

Here's a link to it.  It's in mp4 format, so you'll need Quicktime.  For those who insist on mpg files, I'll let you know when it clears the Google and Streetfire "Video Customs" and is available for viewing.

Glad you all were able to meet up again.  I can't wait for my next car show 'cause all I've seen are Imports and several Ricers around here and I need the muscle car fixation! :burnout: (just two more weeks for MoPower Madness in Naperville for those of you from the Chicago area.)

Saturday hangin' out with Rev, Red, & Pixie was great fun!  Crcarch showed up later in the day and ended up hanging out with us until 9:00 PM or so.  We started the day at a fundraiser for the Sunshine Kids where Rev and Red were kind enough to show their car in an effort to help raise money for that charity.  I am sure the Chally was instrumental in helping bring in the folks.  Thanks guys......     In Cartersville that evening, I was fortunate to meet with Rev's brother, (he's working on finishing up a '68 fastback Cuda).  There were a bunch of cars there and several Mopars.  All in all, it was great Georgia weather and there were many folks out enjoying the day/evening.  I was glad to have been able to spend my Saturday with fellow Mopar folks and car people in general.  I hope there are many more great days of cruising ahead this year.  I'll help the others keep y'all posted.....     :cooldancing:      .....Oldschool
