You May Not Agree With This
« on: May 07, 2006 - 05:48:42 PM »
But, I used some "Rust Bullet" on my trunk today. Just did the trunk pan and part of the extensions. I know it doesn't look the greatest but, hopefully it will keep it from rusting. I didn't do the quarters because they're aftermarket and besides that I like the look a little different.

Thanks NZ. Here's the hard believe part, I did all that work with a foam roller and brush.

Thanks. I figure I would rustproof and hopefully keep the factory trunk pan intact. PS I also did the passensenger side floor board as well. I'll try to get some pics of that when I can get around to cleaning up the driver floor pan and roller it on there as well.

Looks very good!  I'm glad you showed these pictures!

I have some floor board and trunk issues to address eventually.  The roller is a great idea as it'll give a nice coat to the metal.

Looks cool!

Thanks again. As for the prep, I just wiped up the area and used some paint thinner. Now, the trunk pan is original so hopefully this works. I have to put another coat on but, that should have it. All you need is two coats of this stuff. In fact, I did this on Saturday and still got part of it on my hands so, it seems to stick for a while for sure.

I did this exact same kind of thing with Por15 in my trunk and floor boards but in the trunk went ahead and had a can of body color mixed up and applied it while the Por15 was still tacky and it's holding up well so you can have you cake and eat it to that way.

I thought about that too 70Cuda but, I'm going to be with the different crowd for a change. I know the silver will be a little better in reflecting heat and may keep the trunk area cooler for my chair and cooler for when I go on a scenic drive or go to a car show.
