Swap meet.... Mopar Round Up in Bellevue, WA ***PICS***
« on: May 07, 2006 - 07:06:20 PM »
My wife and I got up at 2:30 this morning to get on the road.  The swap meet was a little slow.  Lots of A body stuff, not much for B and E.  I did pick up some things.....

~Another steering column for a 70 E body
~Couple seat belts and a hinge
~a 440 HP2 6 pack block with pistons and (4) 906 heads.

This is so wierd!  I looked at the new block I bought today and it's was stamped with the EXACT same day as my other one.  Last two pics are of the 2 different blocks date stamps.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Some cars....

The red one was for sale for $6,000  MUCH RUST!

The green challenger in the background was better, but still over priced at $6,000.  It did sell.

Barry (Alaska T/A) sold out of everything!  It was good to meet him and I look forward to working with him to help with the LA registry website.  Here he is loading a 340 block.

I do have a question!  What is the easiest way to keep the heads and block from rusting any further.  They are not to bad and can be used, but it POURED down on us on the way home and everything is soaked.  The rust is setting in fast.  Can I spray the engine with something to help stop it for now?

Thanks for sharing the photos with us, Cody.  That's cool you found some more items to use on your upcoming/current projects.  As for your question about preventing your block from rusting, I'd get a bunch of cheap motor oil and coat several large trash bags with it then begin covering the engine and adding more oil over the engine until you have it nicely saturated. (I think I put about 3-4 quarts into mine plus had the crankcase full prior to bagging)

It was good meeting you and your wife Cody, I had a lot of fun in the last week. It was good to meet Scott as well.

I need to go through my photos yet, there are a lot of them, but it will take me a while to get them ready, I have a lot of catching up to do here.

T/Ake care,
Barry
