If you dont believe me, count the number of "pumpers" on your carb.
(double pumpers have 2)    Yours has one. (right next to the throttle linkage)

That for sure has a vacuum secondary and not a mechanical secondary

   :iagree:

Yep, that is a vacuum secondary carb. It has duel feeds, but it most definitely isn't a double-pumper. I can post a picture of my double-pumper  tomorrow if you can wait that long.

Gotcha.  I don't know sh!t about carbs.  It was advertised as a double pumper...thats all I was going on.  I got a buddy of mine rebuilding it for me, he picked it up last night and he got the right kit for it.  Hopefully it will be fired up in the next week or so.  Thanks for the information, I learn something new everyday! (even if it is something that I should already know  )

Been doing some work on the Jeep.  I got the carb rebuilt, engine cleaned up, and found an enclosed air cleaner for it.  I got the motor to turn over but I have some major wiring issues.  A new harness costs around $300-$400!!  :banghead:  Oh well, since  I used to be an electrician, I am going to attempt to rewire the whole thing myself.  :eek4:  :grinyes: Here are a few pics of the progress.

:22yikes: That's quite a difference in the engine bay!  Looks much cleaner!   Under the dash looks very scary though  :eek7:

Yeah, I got the engine to where it should be ready to start as soon as I get power to the coil, and figure out the ignition.  I can't wait to get it running, that way I can focus on actually making it look REALLY good under the hood.  I probably would have had it running last night, but I didn't know the wiring schematic for the Accel coil.  I have it now,  plus it was 3 AM when I decided to quit and go to bed  :faint: ... Im a little sleepy   I will have to have an energy drink so I can go...  :woohoo:

Boy that brings back some good old memory's !!  I had a 53 Willys CJ 3 30 years ago .As long as I didn't stop it would go thru any thing. The Chevy HEI only needs a wire with a full 12 volt to power it.

but the white/blue is growing on me...not the pink though... :puke:  My wife likes the pink, but I said no way!  --------- LOL  I think that I am going to give it a fresh coat of white paint, and paint the pink stuff blue.

That is hilarious!  And the weird thing is, the price is exactly the same that I bought mine for!! (Reserve not met)   Anyways, I was talking with my wife yesterday in the car, telling her what all has to be done to the Jeep.  (It runs now by the way!!!)  I told her one item on the list was a can of blue paint.  She got pissed, and said that I am NOT painting over the pink.  We got in a little "fight" about it and she kept saying, everything that is pink is mine!  :nono:  lol  We will have to see about that!!   :roflsmiley:

Well...It is ALIVE!!  It runs great!  smokes a little, but that is probably from the oil I put in the cylinders.  I haven't drove it yet because I need to install a gas pedal and get the brakes working.  It sounds really good though.  Here is a pic of the engine now.

J E E P - Just Empty Every Pocket

Doubt he won mud drags with those tires though, he must have had some type of bogger or paddle tire on their before he sold it to you.
Anyway looks like you have your hands full.  Should be a fun ride when you get it up and running again.  :bananasmi
