I sure wish I could have swung that 74 BS23G4B car, Laura. Parts car now.
As members doing this for a good fellow member, what condition of car are we persuing? Total project or a good driver? I have some leads on some Cudas. One is a very nice 72 340 car B5 blue in excellent driver/ show condition for $28000. The other is a 70 383 car, but the owner wants $40K and it needs restored.
I have even thought of putting just one item out of my Ebody stash on Ebay and donating the profit to this cause.
I think we should set a goal amount, within reason, to meet and give a progress report weekly. Such as $10,000.00... We can do it!  I like a good challenge (no pun intended)

It would really be awesome if Foose would get involved.  Then we could purchase the best car we could afford (right now that wouldn't be much).  And he'd do the rest.  If Foose doesn't get involved, we need to raise a lot more money.  I sure don't want to give Don a rust bucket at Carlisle.    What do you all think a realistic goal would be for a car that is presentable next summer?  Can we get something for $10K?

That looks like a might fine automobile to me!  I haven't seen a price for it yet though.

How about an online 50/50??  Buy tickets and have them mailed (or emailed??) to you, then in the end, draw a ticket and someone will win half the money!!  I'd buy some tickets!!   :grinyes:   :dunno:

I'll get to work on the logistics of doing that 4C...great idea.

Thanks Bullitt.  I guess we still need to wait to raise more money.  I'm putting together the 50/50...should be up in a day or so.

how much time do we have? I would love to chip in. I know a lot of folks that have gone to Korea and say that it is definately not a walk in the park. Any idea on what branch of the service?

The right car at the right price doesn't come along every day, what is needed is someone with the means to go ahead & fund the purchase with the understanding that when the money is raised they will be repaid. I believe there are a few here with that kind of capitol if they would just step forward.

We're trying to get this together to give Don the car in Carlise 07.  He's in the army and from what I understand, might be going back to Afghanistan sometime late next year.

I wish that were me...I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I'm finishing this tonight (hopefully), and that's the way I'm trying to pitch it to him (publicity, that is), since it's unlike most of the other jobs. Also, it's a lot easier than most of the other jobs; they don't have to worry about coming up with some elaborate plan to snatch the car, and then try to keep the owner from prowling around looking for it with a gun  :) Also, they don't have to have a deadline (although I guess that's part of the appeal to some people).

Any response from Foose?

The Army does do that a lot. It could be worse though.

Not yet.  We had a bit of a delay running a wild goose chase.  My brother knows a good friend of Foose's.  I wasted time trying to go in the back door.  Unfortunately, Foose's hands are tied in what projects he does. Everything has to go through the "regular" channels.  Sooo, we're in the regular channel now.

What she said  :smokin:. The information is out to them, but I'm not holding my breath on it. If it happens, that would be great, but I think the better bet is to come up with a Plan B, if not Plans C and D.

I really wish I could help out and donate the Cuda, but the only reason I am selling is to fund the purchase of the other Cuda.  It is a good car, its complete, runs good, the biggest issue is the paint bubbling.  I would love to see Don get my car.
Wasn't his family also trying to raise some money for this?  Has anybody heard from them?
