Wish Fall River was a bit closer to me, I'd go in there and say who has TropicalCats missing parts and just start looking through stuff.  :aarg:  They couldn't kick me out w/o the police, which I imagine would take 15 minutes to respond.  Still 3 hours each way and I still have to get my car ready for Carlise so I'm not much help.
I could have sworn we had some members in the Taunton, MA area? That's not far.

I appreciate the thought.
I spoke with them again just a couple minutes and said "you said you would call me back. What happened." The answer I got was "I was busy". I was then told it was on Jacks " to do list" when he got in. What a bunch of BS. I'm beginning to think the parts are gone for good probably used on someones cap who was missing those pieces and sold for a profit.

Sorry to hear about your problems. I've had problems with a few vendors as I'm sure everyone else has. I know it dosen't help your situation immediately, but this thread has caused them to loose money and hopefully they will see it and maybe take notice. Maybe we should start a thread which just lists vendors to steer clear of?? How did you pay for the item? If you paid by credit I would file a claim with the credit card company. I have had to do this with 2 vendors over the past couple years. It's amazing how fast things seem to work out when they don't get paid.  Hope things work out for you.

Small claims.......
It costs like $16 and is really easy.  Just remember, you have to file in THEIR jurisdiction.  You may want to call their local courthouse and have them fax or mail a small claims form.  You may have to go there on the court date, but maybe they won't let it go to court.  they'll probably call you with a better answer once they get their registered mail subopena.
Be prepared.  Document everything..each call, names and dates etc.  Also sue for about double the amount in punitive damages.  It gets their attention, and if you do go to court, it will make it worth your while.
I hope it helps.

Well I just got off the phone again with Nu-Crome and it was the same story call back in the middle of the week. But I'm done waiting.

Small claims court will cost between $40- $50 bucks and I will need to be present if it goes to court or they win. Since I am in Ohio the travel there and stay would be costly and you cannot file that cost within your claim. I would bet they already know this.

I called the Attorney Generals office in Ma. and what a surprise as I started to tell the story they said "its Nu-chrome, Right" It apears they get several complaint a month on them for lost parts. They are sending forms out and they will contact Nu-Crome on my behalf. I will keep you all posted . The flag that Nu-Chrome flys should be   :aarg:

I'm surprised. I sent 2 different sets of side mirrors to them, and they came back ahead of schedule, and looking great. Keep in mind this was at least 3 years ago, so maybe they have slacked off some in the service area. It looks like you are stuck between a rock and a hard place Richard.  :pullinghair:

I wonder if they should just find a "new" used cap assembly to replace yours?  Would have been better for them in the long run.  I'm Approx 1.25hrs from there.  If I can help let me know.  I've seen him at local shows and he seems kind of expensive like 350 to 450 for a bumper. Good luck.

The Attorney General said the chrome was top rate if you could get them to keep the pieces together. That was always the complaint with them.

Thanks I appreciate the offer.
It cost me $250.00 and I thought Iwas getting the cap disassemble,re-chromed and re- assembled. All I got was the cap and trim  ring re chromed. I suppose I could look around for the pieces parts to finish it off. If I do end up putting it on the car I'll have a story to tell.  :faint:

Both times I sent mirrors sets to them, they scribed work order numbers into all the parts. That would be 4 parts per set(2 bases, 2 heads). All have the same number in some area that would not be seen when mounted. That way all the parts would stay together. Looks like they forgot to do that with you Richard. I kind of wonder if maybe the business wasn't taken over by someone else or something? I feel for you.

Just an update on the Chrome saga.

Got a call last week from Nu-Chrome and was told they found my parts. Amazing what a call from the Attorney General of your state will do for motivation. I just recieved the mounting bracket but still missing the pin that holds it togeather. I sent them an e-mail but I will now put this behind me since I have all the major pieces.

Does anybody know of a place I can get the pin needed to put the assemble back togeather?

Thanks to everybody for you support in this.
