thinking of a second e-body....

I am winding down my 72 Cuda project and now a friend has a pretty solid 70 Chally for sale. Its a full power car with AC and pwr windows. Needs the lower corner of the rear window landing repaired and the trunk pan repaired but the rails, bottom and firewall/cowl are very clean. Needs carpet, seats recovered, dash pad, but has a very fresh 360 with a 727 behind it. Car runs and drives. I think its a doable deal if the price is right but coming to terms with the issue of two cars may be a deal breaker for me.

Where do you guys keep your projects that aren't driveable? I already have my boat at my mom and dads, my motorcycle in a storage shed. We have 4 cars with only a 2 car garage. This would take my space management problem to a new level - one that might interfere with my personal life if you know what I mean.

Am looking for advice from those creative thinkers that have managed to make room in their lives for two e-bodies without ending their marriage or creating chaos in the neighborhood.

It is difficult to find places to put everything!!  I have the same problem and usually the daily driver sits outside and the cuda's get the garage.  The boat goes to a storage place in the winter and thats about it!     Pain in the Ass sometimes!

Im 20, still at home, and my car gets the two car garage for me to work on. My dad's Challenger is stored at a house he owns and the rest of the cars all sit outside. My dad is soppose to build a pole barn this year so we have space to put all of our cars. As of right now between my sister, my parents, and myself....there are 9 cars at our house. Its just a good thing that we have the land to park them on.

Find a really good friend and rent a shop. While I lived in Texas I rented a shop for ~200.00 per month, it was 28'x40. Great for two people. I am still having a tough time trying to find this same deal on the east coast.

I have a double garage, one side for Lucy and one side ready for my next Mopar (Cuda/Charger).
Jeep parks outside. Then there's Dad's single garage, his Ford Falcon parks in there and his Jeep (same as mine) parks outside of that. In total we have 4 cars, soon to be 5. 3 garages and a decent driveway.

Add on! And if you think you're building big enough, and will have plenty of room for your vehicles, you won't! When I started to have too many cars , I  had to build a detached 2 car garage to store my 2 Chargers. Then my wife got her '66 Mustang, I got my Challenger, and 2 years after I built my detached garage, I added on 2 more car spaces too that. And now I actually could use more room...

I completely understand where you are coming from. I have the Cuda, an 85 Cutlass lowrider, 2 motorcycles, 15 bikes, a compressor, engine stand and engine and an engine puller, along with a million bike and car parts in my 2 car garage! I recently built one of the motorcycles and then bought the second never even giving any thought as to where I would keep it.  However having said all that, I would hate to see a fellow C-C'r have problems at home. So I am willing to take one for the team. I would be more than happy to keep your car here.

I passed on a decent and complete running red/white 1959 Impala 2-door V-8 sport coupe 7 years ago for $5,000 because I did not have garage space. I am KICKING myself in the ass for that. No way I will ever find something like that EVER.   

Make it happen, make good with friends, maybe you can store the Challenger somewhere for just a bit. At least until you settle your space situation. I say put the Lexus outside! But in all reality...build an extension to your storage shed or a canopy?

Since I developed this Mopar Madness, it has consumed my life.  I currently have a three car garage but I needed to get my cars away from the kids and bikes and such and the wife agreed to a new home for my "other kids". Once it is done, the single bay will have a 4 post lift so I can comfortably fit four cars in the new 'Cuda house.  Now I just need to find two more cars...

After buying my Cuda in 2000 it took me till 2004 to talk my wife into letting me build a detached garage behind my house. I had to tear down our 18X33 swimming pool to build it. After it was done my wife said she wished we would of put the garage up 4 years sooner as she likes not having ice or snow on her durango and we never used the pool enough to justify having it. I built a 24 X 30 garage and wish it was 24 X 40 as I have to many parts and tools. It is big enough for my Challenger and Cuda but I'm thinking of buying another project mopar. I do have a friend who put up a pole barn and has people store there cars there in the winter or till they get ready to work on them. This maybe a option finding someone with room to store your car or rent a place to keep it.

 I have a lot of projects that i seem to become atatched to. we only have a little under 1 acre.

thats not even counting are personal and work trucks. I am in serious need to start selling out! LOL

Maybe put up one of those 12x20 tents that you can get at the wholesale clubs to store the project car while you work on it. Throw some plywood down on the floor and hang a few cheapie lights from the center metal pole?

I've got a concrete slab.  I hate it.  But, the damn city won't even let me put up a little shelter, to keep the car protected from hail.

damn that sucks ghost, time to get a waterproof cover, lay down some old thick blankets over the car, put the cover over that...should keep from any dents
