Bolting the K frame to the chassis rails

When I pulled my K frame out of the car there was nothing between the K frame and the chassis rails. A picture I saw in a Plymouth service manual shows a bush or washer between the two. Now that i'm about to bolt it back in, can anyone tell me whether anything is meant to go between the two? Metal on metal doesn't seem right but thats how it was when I pulled it out.

Mine was also metal to metal, so that's the way I put it in.

The later model Chryslers used  big rubber donut looking things around the k-member for noise isulation.They also used the new style motor mounts.   E-bodies did not use either of them.

On a full on restoration like yours yes...  I wouldn't do that just to change the bearings or something on a done car

if you install from the bottom virtually everything can already be on the engine , starter , headers steerring box & power steering hoses pulleys fanbelts  etc can all be hooked up
